Y our BIOS is se t at the factor y for no rmal op era tin g condit ions , therefor e there is n o need to set or change the BIOS en vironment to operate your notebook.
3 MAIN MENU – SETTING ST ANDARD SY STEM P ARAMETERS The Main M enu allows y ou to set or view the current sys tem par am eter s. Fol low the inst ru cti on s for N avigating Through th e Setup Util ity to mak e any changes.
4 LifeBo ok P Seri es BIOS Primary Ma ster: Selects Primar y Master submenu –— Displays the type of dev ice on this A T A/A T A PI interface, if there is one. Pressing the Enter ke y selects the Primary M aster submenu allowing additional de vice configuration options for this interface.
5 Primary Maste r Submenu of t he Main Menu The Primar y Master submenu i dentifies which A T A devices are installed . Note: A ctual hard drive label sh own may vary . Depending on th e dr ive t yp e, inf ormat ion such as cy linde rs, heads and sectors m ay also be displa yed.
6 LifeBo ok P Seri es BIOS Sec tors : • A number between 0 and 63 –— This item appears only when the type is identified as Hard Disk. When Hard D isk is selected, you can change the value. This field is changed by incrementing (pressing the [Spa cebar]) or by typing in the number .

If you wish to exit from the setup utilit y , press the [ Es c ] key or use the cursor keys to go to the Exit menu.

15 IRQ Re servat ion Submenu of the PC I Configurations Submenu The IRQ Reservat ion submenu of th e PCI Configur ations submen u allows the user to mar k various IRQs as reserved for use by legacy ISA devices. Wh en an IR Q is reserved, th e BIOS does not use it for embedded PCI or ISA de vices.

Follow the instructions for N avigating Through the Setup Uti lity to make any cha nges .
21 Exiting from the Security Me nu W hen you ha ve fi nished setting the parame ters on the Security Menu, you can eithe r exit from setup utility or mov e to another menu. If y ou wish to exit from setup utility , press th e [ Esc ] key to go t o the Exit M enu.

The followi ng table shows the name s of the menu fields for the Info menu and t he infor mati on displayed in those fields.

28 LifeBo ok P Seri es BIOS Save Changes –— Selecting Save Ch anges will cause the new settings in all menus to be written to the BIOS mem ory . The message Save configuration changes now? [Yes] [No] will be displayed. When confirmed, the se tup utility will r eturn to the Exit menu.
