fi-5015C Image Scanner Getting Started v ■ Safety Precautions Do not damage the AC cable. Use only specified AC cables and connector cables Use this scanner only at the indicated power volt age. Do not connect to multiple- power strip s. Do not touch the AC cable with wet hands.

A void any cont act when scanner is in use. Do not use the scanne r immediately after moving it from a cold place into a warm room.

fi-5015C Image Scanner Getting Started 3 Chapter2 INST ALLA TION OF THE SCANNER 2.1 Installing the Scanner Application For scanning documents with this scanner, both sc anner driver and im age capturing a p plication software (called "application" hereafter) must be installed on your PC.
4 5. Error Recovery Guide Installation window appears. Error Recovery Guide is a software that d is- plays troubleshooting infor mation on screen when any scanner error occurs. Althoug h this software’s installation is highly r ecommended, it can be installed later if you do not install it in this step.
fi-5015C Image Scanner Getting Started 5 6. When the [InstallShield Wizard Complete] win- dow appears, click [Finish]. For FUJITSU ISIS Scanner Driver ■ Preparation Take out the Setup CD-ROM from its package, but do not insert the Setup CD-ROM into the CD drive yet.
6 7. Follow the instructions on the window to install the application. 8. When the [InstallShield Wizard Complete] window appears, click [Finish]. Your computer will be restarted. Do not remove the Setup CD-ROM from the CD drive until your PC has completely restarted.
fi-5015C Image Scanner Getting Started 7 2. Click [Install Products]. 3. Click [Error Recovery Guide] on the next screen. 4. Select a language to use for the in stallation in the <Choose Setup Language> window and click [OK]. 5. Install the application following the in structions in the window.
8 2. Select the language and Click [OK] button. 3. Select "Install Adobe Acrobat". 4. Click the [Next] button. The set up window appears. 5. Follow the instructions to install the software. ■ Uninstalling Supplied Programs Follow the procedure below to uninstall supplied pro- grams.
fi-5015C Image Scanner Getting Started 9 2. Exit all currently running programs. 3. Select [Control Panel] - [Add or remove Pro- grams] from the [Start] menu. ⇒ This displays the "Add or remove Programs" screen which displays a list of the currently installed applications.
10 4. Connect the ADF cable to the ADF cable con- nector on the scanner, and secure it with screws. 5. Connect the AC adapter. 1) Connect the AC cable to the AC adapter. 2) Connect the AC adapter connector to the scanner’s DC inlet. 3) Plug the AC cable into the outlet.
fi-5015C Image Scanner Getting Started 11 2.4 Confirming Installation To confirm whether the installation was successful, per- form a scanning operatio n with an application that com- plies with either the TWAIN regulations, such as ScandAll 21 or the ISIS regulations such as QuickScan Pro TM .
12 3. Select [Select Scanner...] from [Scan] menu in QuickScan Pro™. And, select fi-5015C from the list of [Scanner:], and then click the [OK] button. 4. Select [Preview Settings...] from the [Scan] menu. Set the scan resolution, paper size and other scanning requirements, and then click [OK].
