9 Setting Home Time 1. T ap until y ou see HOME TIME. 2. T ap EDIT . 3. At the city name , tap or to cyc le through the a v ailable city names. T ap A-Z to edit a city name. This will be your Home city . Y ou can edit the city , month, da y , year , hour and minute .
Vie wing W orld Time Y ou must set y our home time bef ore viewing W or ld Time . There are 45 b uilt-in cities. The list is a v ailab le at the end of this User ’ s Guide . 1. T ap until y ou see WORLD TIME. 2. T ap o r to cyc le thr ough the av ailable city times.
T o set the daily alar m, do the f ollowing: 1. T ap until y ou see ALARM. 2. T ap EDIT . T ap 0-9 to edit the hour and minute . T ap / to mo v e the cursor in the indicated direction. T ap AM/PM at the bottom of screen to toggle between a.m. and p .m.
12 There are three telephone director ies: Business , Business 2 and P ersonal. Each director y has 10 fields in which to enter data. The fields appear in the f ollowing sequence: Name, Compan y , Address, Home , W or k, F ax, Cell, P ager , E-mail and Note .

14 There are three fields in the Schedule: Star t Date, End Date , and Message . Y ou can set a Schedule alar m which sounds f or 20 seconds. Y ou can enab le/disable the alar m, and stop the sound at an y time . T o enter a Schedule record, do the f ollowing: 1.

This is a v ailab le only in RF-8131. Each Anniv ersar y record consists of a Date field and a Message field. T o enter an Anniv ersar y do the f ollowing: 1. T ap until y ou see ANNIVERSAR Y . Y ou see DA T E ? on the screen. 2. T ap 0-9 to enter the anniver sar y date .
17 There are f our fields in the T odo book: Date Due , Message (descr iption), Date Done and Prior ity . Y ou can set pr iority le v els of one to three. T o enter a T odo record, do the f ollo wing: 1. T ap once . 2. T ap 0-9 to enter the due date for the T odo.

Each Memo record consists of a Message field in which y ou can enter a maximum of 490 characters . T o enter a Memo do the f ollowing: 1.T ap twice . 2. T ap an y key to begin entering y our memo. 3. T ap A-Z or 0-9 to enter y our data. T ap SYML , then tap or to cycle through the list of a v ailab le symbols.
Each Inter net record has fiv e fields: Message (descr iption), Internet (address), Login ID , P ass word and Note . Y ou can enter descr iptions of y our f av or ite W eb sites, the addresses and a note . Y ou can enter a maximum of 108 char acters in the Message and Note fields and 80 characters in the Inter net field.
21 The Expense manager is a v ailab le only in RF-8131. Each Expense record consists of the f ollo wing fields: Date , Amount, Expense T ype, P a yment T ype , and Note . T o enter an Expense do the f ollowing: 1. T ap until y ou see EXPENSE. Y ou see DA T E ? on the screen.
Note : In the Date and Amount fields, only the numbers k e yboard is av ailable . In the Note field, tap ABC/123 to toggle betw een the letters/num- bers k eyboards . T ap A-Z or 0-9 to enter y our data. T ap SYML , then tap / to cycle through the list of a v ailab le symbols.
23 Phone , Memo and Inter net records are sor ted alpha- betically . Schedule and T odo records are sor ted chronologically . Y ou can re vie w y our records, edit them or delete them. Sear ching f or a Record 1. T ap the icon of the directory y ou want to sear ch.
24 Vie wing a Recor d 1. Find the recor d y ou want to vie w as described abo ve . 2. T ap / to vie w other fields in the recor d. Empty fields are not displa y ed. In a phone record, tap to go directly to the e- mail field. Editing a Recor d 1. Find the recor d y ou want to edit.
Y ou can use your organiz er as a Timer . T o set the Timer , do the f ollowing. 1. T ap . 2. T ap the number ke ys or use / to input the hour , minute and seconds y ou want. 3. T ap ENTER to store y our setting. The Timer will beep at the appointed time no mat- ter where y ou are in the organizer .
Y our organizer comes with f our fun games: K e yboard Wizard, Tic T ac T oe, Chance and Memor y . K eyboar d Wizar d This game challenges y ou to tap a letter that floats across the screen bef ore it gets to the other side . 1. T ap until y ou see KEYBO ARD WIZARD .
27 Chance Y ou can hav e the unit select a maximum of 10 num- bers from a range of 1-99. 1. T ap until y ou see CHANCE. 2. T ap ENTER. 3. Enter a range of number s fr om 1 to 99. F or e xample, enter 01-75. 4. T ap and enter the amount of number s you want between 1-10.
28 Memory This game tests y our memor y . 1. T ap until y ou see MEMOR Y . 2. T ap ENTER to begin. 3. Use /// to mo ve the cursor to a hidden number . 4. T ap ENTER to see the number . The number behind the cursor is re v ealed. Continue doing this until y ou find matching num- bers .
Y ou can use your organiz er to spell chec k, find the- saur us entr ies, tr anslate or find phr ases f or a word. The RF-8121 includes the US Spell Chec ker and F oreign Language Phrase Book. The RF-8131 includes the US Spell Chec ker , F oreign Language Phrase Book, Thesaur us and Six Language T r anslator .
30 Y our organizer has f our calculators: a Math Calculator , a Calorie Calculator , a Tip Calculator and a Discount Calculator . Making a Calculation 1. T ap once . The numeric k e ypad appears. 2. T ap 0-9, . or +/- to enter the number s y ou want. Y ou can enter a maximum of 10 digits .

Using the Calorie Calculator Y our organizer comes with a b uilt-in database of 100 common f ood items and their calor ic v alues. Note: The data is a v ailab le in English only . Please see “ Bonus Nutr itional Guide ” at the end of this User ’ s Guide.

Getting a Calorie Repor t 1. T ap until y ou see the CALORIE. 2. T ap R on the letter keypad. 3. Enter the begin and end dates. Use / to mov e between the fields . 4. T ap ENTER to see the repor t. T ap repeatedly to scroll through the daily repor ts.
Y ou can also use or to change the percent- age to 10% or 20% respectiv ely and tap ENTER . 3. T ap the amount of the bill and tap ENTER. The result y ou get is the bill amount plus the tip . Using the Discount Calculator There are three b uilt in percentages: 5%, 10% and 20%.

The Rolode x ® Electronics Desktop Manager is the PC softw are progr am that transf ers data between the Rolode x ® P ersonal Digital Assistant and a personal computer (PC). Y ou can synchronize MS Outlook ® 97/98/2000/2002 and Intellisync Mobile Desktop files or add books to the Organiz er .
T o install the Desktop Manager on y our PC: 1. Inser t the Rolode x ® Electr onics Desktop Manager CD into the CD-R OM drive on y our PC. The Setup screen appears . If this screen DOES NO T launch automatically , f ol- lo w these steps . • Go to Star t | Run.
Bef ore y ou can synchronize records y ou must: 1. Install the Rolodex ® Electr onics Desktop Manager onto y our PC. See “ Installing the Rolode x ® Electr onics Desktop Manager ” on page 41. 2. Connect the organizer to the PC using the seri- al cable pr o vided.
43 Intellisync f or Rolode x Electronics is the program that allo ws y ou to impor t, e xpor t or synchroniz e files between the PC organiz er progr ams and y our Rolode x ® Electronics P ersonal Digital Assistant.
Configuring Y our Or ganizer Pr ograms F or your organiz er data to be included in a synchro- nization, the organiz er progr ams must first be aligned with y our PC organizer application. Y ou must select the organiz er progr ams and the PC organizer appli- cations that y ou want to synchroniz e.
45 Expor t Expor ts data to your PC organiz er application from the organiz er progr am on the organizer . Synchr onize Synchronizes data betw een the organiz er progr am on the organiz- er and y our PC organizer applica- tion.
Changing Ad v anced Settings Each organiz er progr am contains adv anced settings, such as confir mation, conflict resolution, and field mappings . These include progr am specific parame- ters and fields to be mapped f or the data e xchange. Note: These settings v ar y b y organiz er progr am.

Y ou can synchronize personal inf or mation between the Desktop Manager on a PC and y our organizer , or y ou can mov e a book to your organiz er . Note: Mak e sure the cable is connected securely to both the PC and the organiz er . T o tr ansf er data from the Desktop Manager , f ollow these steps .
49 Note: F or proper synchronization, make sure that the organiz er applications y ou want are selected in Intellisync. T ransferring Data W arning! PC organizer applications ma y ha v e longer fields than the Rolode x ® Organiz er can accept.
When y ou synchronize y our data, records that were deleted either in y our handheld organizer or the Desktop Manager will be deleted in both. Ne w records added in either , will no w be added in both.
