14 Key Guide Function Keys Shows help information. Shows conjugations of a word. Shows the menu. Changes the entry language. Clears your entry . Other Keys Backs up (e.g., erases a letter). Enters a word or selects an item. T ypes a space or pages down.
15 The first time that you use this product, do this: 1. Press ON/OFF . A brief demonstration appears. Y ou can stop the demonstration by pressing EFF . 2. Press A or B to choose the message language. When you choose the message language, the demonstration is disabled.
16 Changing Languages ▼ ▼ T o Change the Message Language The message language is the language of help, entry screens, and pop-up messages. 1. Press MENU. 2. Press A or B to select a language. T o Change the Entry Language The entry language is the language in which you enter words to translate or define.
17 T ranslating W ords T o translate or define a word in either lan- guage, simply type the word and press ENTRER. Y ou don’t need to type accents, capitals, or punctuation. 1. Press EFF . 2. T ype one or more words. T o erase a letter , press ARR. T o type a space, press ESP ACE.
18 Don’t worry if you enter a misspelled word. A list of corrections will appear . Finding W ords ✓ Viewing More Corrections Some spelling correction lists have Deeper correction as their last item. T o view more corrections, highlight this item and then press ENTRER.
19 V iewing Inflections Y ou can view inflections of nouns, verbs, and adjectives. 1. T ype or enter a word. 2. Press CONJ. 3. Press or ESP ACE to read. 4. If the word you typed or entered is a verb , press CONJ repeatedly to view its other conjugations.
20 Highlighting Words Y ou can also highlight a word in a translation and then translate that word or view its inflec- tions. 1. Press EFF . 2. T ype a word. 3. Press ENTRER. 4. Press ENTRER again. Notice the highlight. Y ou can turn off the highlight now by pressing ARR.
