4 -EN Never Attempt the Following Do not grip or pull out the disc while it is being pulled back into the player by the automatic reloading mechanism. Do not attempt to insert a disc into the unit when the unit power is off. Inserting Discs Y our player accepts only one disc at a time for playback.
5 -EN On handling Compact Discs (CD/CD-R/CD-RW) • Do not touch the surface. • Do not expose the disc to direct sunlight. • Do not affix stickers or labels. • Clean the di sc when it is dusty . • Make sure that there are no bumps around the disc.

7 -EN Lowering Volume Quickly Activ atin g the Audio Mute fun ction will instan tly lo wer the volu me leve l by 20 dB . Press (MUTE) /RTN to activate the MUTE mode. The audio level will decre ase by about 20 dB. Pressing (MUTE)/RTN again will bring the audio back to its previous level.
8 -EN Presetting Stations Manually 1 Select the radio band a nd tune in a desired rad io station you wish to store i n the preset memory. 2 Press and hold, for at least 2 seconds, any one of the prese t buttons (1 through 6) into which you wish to store the station.
9 -EN 5 To eject the disc, press . • Do not remove a CD during its eject cycle. Do not load more than one disc at a tim e. A ma lfunction ma y r esult fr om doing either . • If the CD doe s not eject, press and hold for at least 2 seconds. • The “DISC IN ” indicator l ights up when a disc is insert ed.
10 -EN File/Folder Name Search (concerning MP3/WMA/AAC) Folde r and f ile names may be searched and displa yed during pl ayback. 1 During MP3/WMA/AAC playback, press /E SC to activate the search mode. 2 Turn the Rotary encoder to select Folder Na me Search mode or File N ame Search mode, and t hen press / /ENT .
11 -EN Supported playback sampling rates and bit rates MP3 WMA AAC This device may not play back corr ectly depending on sampling rates. ID3 tags/WMA tags This device support s ID3 tag v1 and v2, and WMA tag. If tag data is in an MP3/WMA/AAC file, this device can display the title (track title), artist name, and album name ID3 tag/WMA tag data.
12 -EN Adjusting Bass/T reble/Balance (Between Left and Right)/Fader (Between Front and Rear)/Defeat 1 Press Rotary encoder (AUDIO) repeatedly to choose the desired mode.
13 -EN Setting the T reble Control Y ou can change th e T reble Freq uency e mphasis to c reate your o wn t onal preference . 1 Press A.SEL/SETUP repeatedly to s elect the TREBLE mode. BASS TREBLE HPF BASS 2 -1 Press BA ND to select the desired treble center frequency.
14 -EN Displaying the T ext T ext informat ion, such as the disc name and the track name, will be displayed if playing a CD text compatible disc. It i s also possi ble to display th e folder na me, the file name and the tag, et c., while play ing MP3/WMA/AAC f iles.
15 -EN Y ou c an flexibly cust omize the un it to suit you r own preferences a nd usage. From the SETU P menu, Sound Customizin g, V isual Customizing, e tc., can be m odified. 1 Press and hold A.SEL/SE TUP for at least 2 seconds to activate the SETUP mode.
16 -EN Scroll Setting (TEXT SCR ) This CD player can scroll t he disc and t rack names r ecorded on CD-TEXT discs, as well as the text information of MP3/WMA/AAC files, folder n ames and tags. • The unit scr olls CD text names, folder n ames, file names or ta g display .
17 -EN An iPod ® can be connected t o this unit b y using the proprieta ry ALPINE FULL SPEE D ™ Connection Cable (KCE-4 22i) (sold separate ly). When t his unit i s connec ted by using t he cable , the cont rols on the iPod are not funct ional.
18 -EN 5 Turn the Rotary encoder to select the desi red Song, and then p ress / / ENT . • After pr ess ing and hol ding / / ENT for at least 2 s econds whil e in each hier ar chy (e xcep t SONG hie rar chy), all songs of the selec ted hierarc hy are played back.
19 -EN Random Play Shuffle (M.I.X.) The Shuf fle fun ction of the iPod is displa yed as M.I.X. on th is unit. Shuffle Albums: The songs on ea ch album are played ba ck in proper order . Upon completion of al l the songs on the album, the next album is selected rando mly .
20 -EN In Case of Difficulty If you encou nter a proble m, please tu rn the power off, then on again. If the unit is still no t functioning n ormally , please re view the ite ms in the follo wing chec klist. Thi s guide will he lp you isolate the problem if the unit is at faul t.
21 -EN The sound is not ou tput from the speake rs. • Unit has no output signa l of the internal amplifier . - PO WER IC is switched to “PO W ON” (page 16). iPod does not play and no sound is out put. • The iPod has not been recognized. - Reset this unit and the iPod.

23 -EN Installation and Connections Before installing or connecting th e unit, please read the following and pages 3 and 5 o f this manual thoroug hly for proper u se. Wa r n i n g MAKE THE CORRECT CONNECTIONS. Failure to make the proper connections may result in fi re or product damage.
24 -EN Installation • The main un it must be mounted withi n 35 degr ees of the horizo ntal plane, back to front. Caution When you in stall this unit in your car , do not remove the detach able fr ont panel. If the deta chable front panel is removed during instal lation, you might press too hard and warp the metal pl ate that hol ds it in place.
25 -EN Removal 1. Remove the deta chable fr ont panel. 2. Insert the bracke t keys into th e unit, al ong the guid es on either si de. The unit ca n now be removed from the mounting sl eeve.
