Both normal operation of the icemaker (Stages 1 - 6) and non-normal diagnostic sequences showing tor que-out (Stages 7 - 1 0) for use in tr oubleshooting icemaker pr oblems ar e shown.
Normal oper ation – Stage 2 The wat er sensor verifies w ater in the float r eser v oir . The w ater OK LED (WTR) comes on. At the same time, the gearmotor , compressor and condenser f an mot or come on, lighting the dr iv e LED (DR) and compressor LED (C).
Normal oper ation – Stage 4 Once the ice le vel contr ol opens, the B-E LED goes out. Aft er a 1 0 second dela y the compressor LED (C), compressor and f an mot or go off . (Should the ice lev el control not r emain open for 1 0 seconds, the icemaker will continue t o r un.
25 Normal oper ation – Stage 6 When the d well time of 20 minut es has expir ed, the B-T LED goes of f. The icemaker goes thr ough the nor mal star t-up sequence when the bin le vel contr ol signals the control boar d for ice . The WTR LED will r emain on as long as the wat er sensor in the float r eser voir senses w ater .
26 Diagnostic sequence – Stage 8 If the rest ar t is successful the 20M LED goes off , the 60 minut e timer LED (60M) comes on. The 60M LED will remains on f or 60 minut es from r estar t. A light ed 60M LED indicates the icemak er has experienced an ov er -torque condition.
27 Diagnostic sequence – Stage 1 0 If the wat er lev el in the float r eser voir dr ops to an unaccept able le vel, the WTR LED goes out, shut ting the icemaker of f . Also, the BT LED comes on, pr e venting the icemak er from rest ar ting for t wenty minut es.
All ser vice on r efr igeration s yst ems must be performed in accordance with all f ederal, stat e and local laws . It is the responsibility of the technician t o ensure that these r equirements ar e met. Rechar ging icemaker t o other than f actory specifications will void the w arranty .
Service procedur es Ev aporator disassemb ly (F ig. 7) 1 . Disconnect power t o icemaker . 2. Shut off w ater t o icemaker . 3. Drain ev aporat or and float tank. 4. Disconnect plastic tubing from e vaporat or wat er inlet, drain pan stub , compression nozzle tubing and r eser voir o verf low tubing from secured clip .
Prob le m 1 . Icemak er will not run. Sy stem status: compressor , gearmotor , and f an motor inoper ativ e. 2. Compr essor will not run. Sy stem status: gearmotor and fan motor run. 3. Unit cy cles intermit tentl y . Sy stem status: compressor , gear motor , and fan motor c ycle.
31 Pr oblem 6. Icemaker runs f or shor t per iod of time and shuts down on t orque error . Sy stem status: 20M or 2nd LED are lit. 7 . Evaporat or is iced up on the outside. No ice production. Sy stem status: compressor , gearmotor and fan motor running.
