8 Secur e Y our Child in the Re straint 1. T o loosen the harness, lift the adjus ter lever located in fr ont of the rest raint and pull th e harness straps f orward (Fig. 1) . 2. T o unfasten c hest clip, squeeze tabs (Fig. 2) . Separate clip (Fig. 3) .
10 Reclined Po sition Use the rear -facing, reclined posit ion with children weig hing 33 pounds (15 kg) or less (Fig. 1) . 1. T o adjust the restraint to the reclined position, turn the restr aint upside down so the base is facing up. With bo th hands, pull up on the b ase to disengag e the rods.
12 Check Harness Height 1. Place child i n restraint, then secure har ness (see Sec ure Y our Child in the Restrai nt, pages 8 and 9). 2. Obser ve wher e the harness is positione d on the child. Rear-fac ing harness straps should be loc ated in the neares t slot at or below the child’ s shoulder .

30 Check Buckle Position If the buc kle is touchi ng the vehic le belt path opening (Figs. 1 and 2) after the vehic le belt is tight ened, move the child rest raint to another seating position in th e vehicle to achiev e the correct positi on (Figs. 3 and 4) .
32 Using the T ether • When using the restraint i n forward-facing position, attac h the tethe r only to tether anchors identi ed by the vehicl e manufactu rer as tether an chorage points. Use of other loc ations is not ap proved or permit ted. • The manufactu rer recommends t hat the tether b e used in forward-f acing mode.
