Let’s Go! Software P ort Software Cartridge • Some of the tools on the tool menu are not av ailable for use during some activities or games. If a tool is not available f or use, you will hear a tone. The Home and the Save It (and V olume Contr ol) tools are always a vailable for use .
T oy Designer Choose an activity or game from the Home Screen: Designer’ s W orkshop , Hide-and-Seek, Shelf Shopper , Playtime Programmer , Star ter Scenes , and Cop ycat Challenge .
Designer’s W orkshop • Design an action figure by choosing a head, body, legs and arms. T ouch your choice on the screen with the stylus. 5 Head • Look at the different heads on the conv eyor belt. T ouch the screen with the stylus to choose one for your to y .
6 • Now , choose another part to design! T ouch your choice on the screen with the stylus. Body • Look at the different bodies on the conv eyor belt.
7 Legs • Look at the different legs on the c onvey or belt. T ouch the screen with the stylus to choose one for your to y . • Now , choose another part to design! T ouch your choice on the screen with the stylus.
8 • Now , choose the last part to design! T ouch your choice on the screen with the stylus. Arms • Look at the different arms on the conv eyor belt.
9 • T ouch the flashing box on the screen with the stylus. • Look at the action figure you designed!.
10 Hide-and-Seek Object of the Game: Find the toy! • Look at the toy on the scr een. This is the toy you need to find . Hint: If you designed an action figure in the Designer’s Workshop activity , you’ll be looking for your toy! • Pixter® hides the toy and counts down.
11 • The toy is hidden behind one of the flashing objects. Can you find it? • T ouch an object on the screen with the stylus..
12 • Hoora y! Y ou’v e found the toy! • Oh well, the toy isn ’t there . T ry again! Hint: Y ou’ll get three tries to find the toy ..
13 • If you don ’t find the toy after thr ee tries, Pixter® shows you where the toy is hiding. Play again! Hint: If you’ d like to go to a different activity , touch Home on the tool menu with the stylus to return to the Home Screen.
14 Shelf Shopper • Let’ s go to the store. • T ouch the arrows on the bottom of the screen with the stylus to scroll through different toys . Hint: If you designed an action figure in the Designer’s Workshop activity, you’ll find it on the store shelf.
15 • After you ’ve filled your shopping cart with three toys , it ’ s time to check out. • T ouch the shopping car t on the screen with the stylus.
• T ouch the cash register on the screen with the stylus to pay for your t oys. • It ’ s time to go home and play with the toys. • Use the tools on the tool menu to add to your room: "Pencil" T ool ; Straight Line ; Shape Maker ; S tamp It ; Erase It ; or Special Effec ts Selector .
• T ouch the play button on the screen with the stylus to bring your toys to lif e! Hint: If you’ d like to save y our creation, touch Save It on the tool menu with the stylus. If you’ d like to go to a different activity , touch Home on the tool menu with the stylus to return to the Home Screen.
18 Playtime Progr ammer • Choose a toy to animate . T ouch your choice on the screen with the stylus. • The blinking arrow on the bottom of the screen is telling you to choose the stamper tool. T ouch the stamper tool on the tool menu with the stylus.
19 • Choose an animation for the toy . T ouch your choice on the screen with the stylus. • Now , touch the screen with the stylus to place your stamper .
20 • T ouch the blinking arrow on the bottom of the screen with the stylus to choose another stamper . • T ouch the play button on the screen with the stylus. • W atch the toy come to lif e. Hints: – If you chose more than one stamper and placed them on the screen, each stamper comes to life in the order that you plac ed them on screen.
• If you have a Pixter® 2.0 unit and you ’ d like to send your picture to another Pixter® 2.0, touch the Save It or Send It tool on the tool menu with the stylus.
22 Starter Scenes • T ouch the arrows on the bottom of the screen with the stylus to scroll through different backgrounds. • When you find one that you like , touch the screen with the stylus.
• The blinking arrow on the bottom of the screen encourages you t o use the Stamp It tool on the tool menu. T ouch the Stamp It tool with the stylus. • T ouch the arrows on the bottom of the screen with the stylus to scroll through stamper choices.
• Place your stamper choice on y our back- ground. T ouch the screen with the stylus. 24 • Use the tools on the tool menu to finish your creation: "Pencil" T ool ; Straight Line ; Shape Mak er ; Stamp It ; Erase It ; or Special Effects Se le ct or .
• If you have a Pixter® 2.0 unit and you ’ d like to send your picture to another Pixter® 2.0, touch the Save It or Send It tool on the tool menu with the stylus.
26 Copy cat Challenge Object of the Game: Copy the toy before you fill up the trash bin! • Look at the screen. - In the upper lef t corner is the sample toy you will build . - The platform is where you will re-build the toy . - The conveyor belts contain all the parts for the toy .
• T ouch a toy part on the screen with the stylus. 27 • Now , touch the screen with the stylus near the platform to place the part..
• Choose another toy part from a conv eyor belt. T ouch your choice on the screen with the stylus. • T ouch the screen near the platform again with the stylus to place the new part. • Continue to get parts from the conv eyor belts and place them on the platform to build the toy .
• Good job! Y ou made a copy of the toy . • Y ou get one point. • Let’ s produce the next toy . 29.
• After you ’ve completed f our toys , you’ re on to the next level. - The conveyor belts mov e a little faster . - S ome parts on the conveyor belts can ’t be used to build the sample toy in the left corner . - Y ou only get 30 seconds to produc e the toy .
• Oops, that ’ s the wrong toy part. • Now , it’ s in the trash bin. Hint: Don’ t fill up the trash bin! • Choose another toy part. T ouch your choice on the screen with the stylus. • After you’ ve produced eight to ys, you’ re on to the third level.
• Keep playing until you fill the trash bin. How many to ys did you produce? Hint: If you’ d like to sav e your game, touch Save It on the tool menu with the stylus. If you’ d like to go to a different activity , touch Home on the tool menu with the stylus to return to the Home Screen.
33 T ool Menu Create your own dr awing or write a message with the stylus. “Pencil” T ool Pixter ® ,P i x t e r ® Plus, Pixter ® 2.0 T ouch for freestyle drawing or writing.
34 T ouch to make a straight line. Now , choose the line thick- ness for your “pencil” tool. T ouch the screen with the stylus. Now , drag the stylus on the screen and stop. Look – a str aight line! Hint: Make your own shapes or create your own connect-the-dots.
35 Shape Maker Pixter ® ,P i x t e r ® Plus, Pixter ® 2.0 T ouch to make shapes. Now , choose the shape: - T riangle - Circle - Square/rectangle - Make your own shape! T ouch the screen and drag the stylus to make small or large shapes. Hint: T o make a triangle, touch the screen and drag the stylus to make the base of the triangle.
36 Stamp It! Pixter ® ,P i x t e r ® Plus, Pixter ® 2.0 T ouch for stamper art. T ouch the arrows on the bottom of the screen with the stylus to see each of the stamper designs.
37 Eraser Pixter ® ,P i x t e r ® Plus, Pixter ® 2.0 T ouch to make your stylus an eraser . Now , choose the line thick- ness for your eraser . Use your stylus to erase any part of what ’ s on the screen.
38 Full Scr een Erase Pixter ® ,P i x t e r ® Plus, Pixter ® 2.0 T ouch to choose an animated full screen erase with cool sound effects. Choose one of the options and watch and listen as your drawing disappears. Hint: After using the full screen erase , you’re still in the same activity using the same tool.
39 Special Effects Selec tor Pixter ® Plus, Pixter ® 2.0 T ouch to choose a special effect. Rotate it, mirror it or switch from white to black or black to white.
40 Switch from white t o black or black to white; rotate it, mirror it, fill in a selected drawing area or write a caption. White to Black/Black to White/Mirror T ool T ouch the screen with the stylus and watch the special effect. Special Effects Selec tor Pixter ® Plus, Pixter ® 2.
41 T o fill in a selected drawing area, selec t the area. W atch the selected area fill in. T yping T ool T o create your own caption, touch each letter of each word with the stylus. T ouch the bottom of the screen with the stylus. Y ou’r e back to your creation.
42 Sav e It! (and Adjust the V olume) Pixter ® ,P i x t e r ® Plus T ouch to save or retriev e your drawing; or adjust the volume (at any time). T ouch IN file to save; touch OUT file to retrieve; touch V olume Control to increase or decrease volume to a comf ortable level.
43 Save It or Send It (Add a Subject Line to your message and Adjust the V olume too) Pixter ® 2.0 T ouch this tool to save or retriev e your drawing , send a message, add a subject line to your message or adjust the volume.
44 T ouch the IN file to save; touch the OUT of file to retrieve; touch the volume control to incr ease or decrease sound to a comfortable level. Hints: - Y ou can sav e one picture or game at a time! Each time you save a picture or game, it replaces the one already there.
T o send a score or picture, make sure the receiver (the other Pixter ® 2.0 unit) is at least one foot but no more than five feet away and signal domes are aligned! T ouch the on the screen. T o receive a message touch the nodding yes face on the scr een.
T o create a subject line for messages, touch each letter of each word with the stylus. When you are finished , touch the screen. Y our subject line is automatically stored .
47 Home Pixter ® ,P i x t e r ® Plus, Pixter ® 2.0 T ouch to go back to the Home Screen. Choose an activity or game: Designer ’ s Workshop , Hide-and-Seek, Shelf Shopper , Playtime Programmer , Starter Scenes, and Copycat Challenge.
48 IMPORT ANT! The mark made on your screen from the stylus and the location of the tip of the stylus may not align. When this happens, you need to calibrate the stylus. • T urn Pixter® power on. W ait until you see the Home Screen. • T urn Pixter over and locate the calibr ation hole.
