1 W elcome to AquaSmart™ Thank you for buying a Fisher & Pa ykel AquaSmar t™ clothes washer . W e are very proud of this washer and trust it will ser ve you well for many years. At Fisher & P aykel we aim to provide innovativ e produc ts that are simple to use, ergonomic and kind to the environment.

3 Installation instruc tions W ater supply This clothes washer should be plumbed into both a hot and cold water supply other wise some cycles may not function correctly . F or best operating conditions your hot water should be appro ximately 65˚C. Y our hot water should not exceed 75˚C or your cold water exc eed 35˚C.
4 Installation instruc tions Clothes washer safety This clothes washer is not intended for use by young children or infirm persons without super vision. Y our AquaSmart™ can only be opened during the initial fill stage. Once the fill is complete, the lid will be locked for safety reasons.
5 Befor e y ou do y our rst wash Y ou owe it to yourself and your AquaSmart™ to have it installed correctly by an authorised ser vice agent. Before you star t, it is a good idea to go through the.
6 Getting star ted quick ly It is impor tant to sor t your clothes, par ticularly by colour , as well as separating out sheets and washing them on the SHEETS cycle (ref er to page 9 for more details on sor ting and loading). Close bra clasps, do up zippers and check pockets.
7 Getting star ted quick ly 1 PRESS POWER to activate your AquaSmart™ w ash er . 2 Select the desired W ASH CY CLE that most closely matches your wash load.
The AquaSmart™ washer has t wo modes of washing, High Efficiency and C onv entional . Both modes star t the same way , with a Detergent Activating wash. Detergent Activating wash AquaSmart™ fills the bowl at the selec ted water temperatur e, with just enough water so the clothes are saturated .
9 F ully automatic water lev el Y ou may notice that your AquaSmart ™ clothes washer behaves differently from your previous washer . Y our AquaSmart ™ , like all H igh Efficiency washers, has a fully automatic water level. This means that, like Fr ont Loaders, the selection of the water level is left entirely up to the washer .
10 So r t ing Care labels Care labels will tell you about the fabric of the garment and how it should be washed. Soil Sor t clothes according to the type and amount of soil. Some soils suit warmer washes, eg. oily soils, while others are best washed in cold water , eg.
11 Choosing the right detergent Y our AquaSmart™ is a H igh Efficiency clothes washer and needs Low Sudsing Detergent to preven t oversudsing problems . This is the same type of detergent Front Loaders use and are labelled, “Lows Suds” , “Matic” or “High Efficienc y ” .
12 F abric sof tener Choosing the right c ycle If you wish to use fabric sof tener you will need to select the SOFTENER option which will give you a deep rinse. If SOFTENER is not selected, the fabric softener will not be dispensed. Adding the fabric softener Measure sof tener out into the cap and pour into the fabric softener dispenser .
13 W ash cycles explained Regular Regular – H igh Efficienc y Mode F or normally soiled everyday cotton loads, eg. towels, t-shirts, shor ts, shir ts. Regular – H igh Efficienc y Mode Off F or ever yda y loads where extra water is an advantage. For example when the load is linty , sandy , or dye run is possible.

15 Changing the w ash c y cle options W ash cycles explained Bulky Bulky – High Efficiency Mode Unavailable . Bulky – High Efficiency Mode Off Recommended c ycle for washing bulk y items .
16 Simply increase or decrease your wash temperature by pressing the TEMPERA TURE button to scroll through the options available. Note: The temperature option selects the temperatur e of the first phase of the two-par t wash system, the Detergent Activating W ash.
17 Changing the w ash c y cle options W ash cycle options explained Delay Star t The Delay Star t option allows you to delay the start of the wash c ycle for 1, 3 or 9 hours. This can be useful to time your washing to finish when you arrive home from work, or to star t once you have finished in the shower .
18 Note: I f you wish to change any of the wash options while your AquaSmar t™ is running please press ST AR T/P A USE then select the required option. Auto dra in Unsuper vised clothes washers filled with water can present a drowning hazard to small children.
19 T o customise a c ycle Y ou can prog ram your AquaSmart™ to remember the wash options you prefer for each wash cycle. For instance, you may want to set the R egular c ycle to a cold wash. 1 Pr ess POWER. 2 Pr ess the wash cycle button. 3 Select your wash options, (eg.
20 Option Adjustment mode After using your AquaSmart™ you may want to fine tune some of the options to suit your wash needs. There are a number of preset options, which can be altered . The wash temperatur es. The rinse option. Changing the cold wash to Contr olled Cold.

22 Changing pr e -set options End of Cy cle B eeps 1hr light No beeps 3hr light 5 beeps 9hr light 15 beeps End of C ycle beeps The number of beeps that signal the end of the c ycle can be alter ed. Choose between no beeps, five or fifteen beeps. The DELA Y ST AR T button adjusts the cycle signal setting.
23 Out- of-Balance recov er y routine When your AquaSmart™ is spinning it can sense if the wash load is out-of-balance and will stop and re-tr y spinning up to 3 times. If it still senses an unbalanced load there are t wo options the machine can take.
24 Con trol Panel Lighting The panel lighting of your AquaSmart™ washer can be adjusted to suit the envir onment that it is located in. F or a low lighting situation you may need more lighting contrast and for installations where there is a lot of ambient light, you may need less.
25 When you hav e finished the c ycle T urn off the taps to prev ent the chance of flooding should a hose burst. Unplug the machine from the wall socket. Cleaning y our AquaSmart™ Before you star t cleaning your AquaSmart™ washer , ensure that it is turned off at the wall.
26 Cleaning your low profile agitator If your low profile agitator becomes stained we recommend you use household bleach to clean it. Ensure you wear glov es, tip a small amount of household bleach onto a sof t cloth and apply to the stain. Be careful to av oid metal sur faces of your machine.
27 Unsure about what the best way is to wash your garment? T r y these handy tips for some of those tricky washing challenges: A Allergy If you or someone in your household has allergies we would suggest using a separate c ycle to wash bedding and clothing.
28 D Damp Items A simple spin only cycle is handy for spinning out damp items before dr ying . Adv ance c ycl e to SPIN using the ADV ANCE button. Delicates F or clothing that requires a more gentle approach choose the DELICA TE cycle.
29 J Jackets T o care for bulk y jackets choose the BULKY c ycle . Jeans These items can quickly lose their colour . F or best results we recommend that you wash jeans using the COL O UR S c ycl e to minimise any potential colour loss.
30 T T ablecloths We recommend using the SHE ET S cycle to properly care for large flat items such as table cloths. Choose SHEETS cycle. T e a T owe ls T o ensure that bacteria is remov ed from items such as tea towels we recommend that you wash these items on the a HOT , REGULAR, HIGH EFFICIENCY cycle.
31 Please read the following pages before you call for ser vice. Y ou can correct many of your machine ’ s problems yourself , using the checklists on the following pages. Y our AquaSmart™ is capable of diagnosing its own problems and if it has a problem it will beep and display a message telling you what is wrong .
32 The COLD water temperatur e light is flashing. Check that the cold water supply has been turned on. Y our cold water temperatur e may ex ceed the recommended limits (refer to Installation instructions pages 2 – 4). Check that the inlet hose filter is not blocked.
33 Pr essing POWER does not turn on machine. Is the power switched on at the wall? Unplug from wall. W ait 60 seconds, plug back in, turn on and tr y again. Could household power supply be at fault? T ry plugging in another appliance. Pr essing ST ART/P A USE does not star t the fill.
34 W ash CY CLE TIME longer than usual. If water pressure is low , cycle time will increase due to longer fill times. Ensure that inlet hose filters are not blocked. Y our machine may have initiated W ash R ecov er y Mode where it has sensed your load is washi ng unevenly .
35 CREASING. W as the washer or dr yer overloaded? Selecting the EASY IRON cycle will minimise creasing. T r y not to leave wet clothes sitting in the washer or laundr y basket. LINTING. W as the washer overloaded? W ash lint givers , eg. towels, separately from lint receivers , eg.
