5 The main features of the WX-17 Emer gency Aler t Radio include: Alert Function: Y our Emergency Alert Radio will sound an alert tone when it receives a weather emergency br oadcast from NOAA. 7 W eather-Channels: Allows you to select one of the 7 NOAA weather broadcast channels.
Installation Installing/r eplacing the batteries The Emergency Alert Radio is designed to use 4 AA batteries (not included) as its primary power source. To install batteries: -P r ess down and slide down the battery compartment door . - Install the batteries taking care to observe the correct polarities as shown.
7 4. DC Jack: Allows use of 120V AC to DC wall adapter (included) to save battery power . 5. Speaker: Large speaker for great sound in a small radio. 6. T elescopic Antenna: Fully extend the antenna and position for best reception of FM and WX signals.
EMERGENCY RADIO OPERA TIO N 1. Select WB or ALERT . 2. Select the proper channel (out of 7) with the W eather Band selector switch. 3. In WB: T urn the Volume knob to the desir ed volume. 4. In ALERT : When NOAA sends out an emergency warning, the radio will sound a loud signal for 15 seconds.
