SMOKE ALARM FEA TURES • Model ADC features a False Alarm Contr ol which, when acti- vated, quiets unwanted alarms for up to 15 minutes. • This smoke alarm is powered by 120V AC and a 9-volt battery back-up source. AC/DC smoke alarms of fer added protection in the event of a power failure or a drained battery .
• The Push-to-T est button accurately tests all smoke alarm functions. DO NOT use any other test method. T est smoke alarm weekly to ensure pr oper operation. • Smoke alarms must not be used with detector guards unless the combination of alarm and guard has been evaluated and found suitable for that purpose.

NOTE: If this will be a single-station smoke alarm, cover yellow wire with electrical tape and tuck into junction box. 8. Lift open battery pocket door . 9. Connect new 9-volt battery to battery connector inside battery pocket. BE SURE BA TTER Y IS SECUREL Y CONNECTED.
If the smoke alarm does not go into False Alarm Control and continues to sound its loud alarm horn or if it initially goes into False Alarm Control then r esounds the alarm, the smoke is too heavy and could be a possibly dangerous situation— take emer gency action.
8. Place battery into battery pocket. 9. Close battery pocket door . Push down until it snaps into place. 10. Replace connector plug. Connector will snap into place. Gently tug connector to be sure it is attached pr operly . 11. Reattach smoke alarm to mounting plate by turning smoke alarm clockwise until it snaps into plate.
TROUBLESHOOTING DANGER: Always turn off power at main fuse box or circuit br eaker before taking tr ouble- shooting action. W ARNING: DO NOT disconnect battery or AC power to quiet an unwanted alarm. This will remove your pr otection. Fan the air or open a window to remove smoke or dust.
