5 This is a SLIDE-IN TYPE unit designed to fit into open-front enclosures. The F ront P anel (Face) of the unit is remo v able f or gas hookup, servicing and Burner adjustment, and MUST remain removable after you install the unit.
6 CYLINDER AND CONNECTOR REQUIREMENTS AND SPECIFICA TIONS a. Propane gas cylinders and valves must be maintained in good condition and must be relaced if there is visible damage to either the cylinder or valve. b. 7 TO CONNECT TO THE GAS SUPPL Y a. Th e Elite Barbecue is supplied with an approved stain- less steel flex connector to bring the gas supply from the gas line stub to the V alve Manif old. A 7/8”x 36” Connector is provided with a 1/2" fem ale pipe adapter on one end to connect to your gas suply .
8 CHECKING THE BARBECUE REGULA TOR The Barbecue Regulator , located behind the F ront Panel (F ace), must be set f or the type of gas used to fuel the Barbecue.
9 REA TT ACHING THE F ACE & IGNITOR WIRES Pull the Drip T ra y out far enough to suppor t the F ace in the vertical position. Lean the F ace forward and plug the 2 wires into the terminals on the Spark Generator (Figure 11). The wires can be plugged into either terminal.
10 FOR AUTOMATIC LIGHTING: 1. Open the lid. 2. T ur n all three Barbecue gas valv es and the Backburner valve to the “OFF” position. 3. T urn on the gas at the source outside of the Barbecue enclosure. 4. Remove the Backburner cover if you are lighting the Backb ur ner .
11 OPERA TNG YOUR BARBECUE T o e xtend the life of your Fire Magic Barbecue, f ollow these steps prior to cooking: 1. Begin by heating the unit at a normal cooking temperature for several minutes. 2. Then open the Control V alves to the “High” setting to b ur n off residue remaining from prior use.
12 FEA TURES AND ACCESSORIES USING THE COOKING GRILL LIFTER Hold the Grill Lifter by gripping the center section with the prongs pointing down (Using oven mitt or heavy glove if the grill is hot). Inser t the notched end of the Grill Lifter into the grill, in front of the midway point (front to back- Figure 14A) and central (left to right-Fig 14B).
