INDICATION FOR USE This product is not sold as a medical device and is not for the purpose of diagnosis of any disease or co ndition nor for use in the mitigation, treatment, or pr evention of any disease or condition. II. GENERAL INFORMATION There are different size units avail able, depending on t he squ are footage of your home.
Page 3 III. INSTALLATION 1. Locate a suitable location for the unit downstream from t he ‘A’ coil in the supply plenum or in the return plenum; preferably downstream from the air filter. For optimum “clea n ing” effect on the ‘A’ coil, mount the unit in the supply plenum as close as possible to the ‘A’ coil.
Page 4 2. Determine the type of duct you have. (For flex duct applications, refer to Figure 26 on page 11) I F YOU HAVE METAL DUCT : a. Apply supplied wet and stick mounting template to air d uct in either a vertical or horizontal position as shown in Figure 2.
Page 5 3. Remove base unit and cover from box. 4. Apply supplied “Duct Se al Kit” according to instructions included in kit. (See Figure 12) 5. Determine whether to use flat or angled bracket. (Refe r to “Bulb Mounting Bracket Selection” in Section VI for aid in this decision ) a.
Page 6 8. Insert lamp t hrough the hole until lam p cannot be inserted any further. (See Figure 16) 9. Swing the swivel bracket over the end of lamp. Hand-tighten the wing nut o n the stud. Be careful no to over tighten the wing nut. The po rcelain at the lamp base may crack when over tightened.
Page 7 13. Close the cover and tighten co ver screw. (See Figure 21) 14. Plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet. NOTE: Seal the joints an d seams of the plenum near the mounting location to reduce any direct viewing of light. (See Figure 1) 15.
Page 8 V. ALARM CIRCUIT WIRING The UV Aire units supplied with a circuit board allo ws for the wi ring of the UV Aire unit into an alarm or security system to monitor the operation of the UV lamp. This circuit is a set of normal open conta cts that close if the operational time exceeds 90 00 hrs or if th e lamp burns out.
Page 9 Chart A VI. BULB MOUNTING BRACKET SELECTION The UV-AIRE TM units come with an a ngled mounting bracket and flat mount ing bracket to position the bul b either straight or at an angle. Cho ose one or the other br acket method be st suited for your needs.
Page 10 VII. MAINTENANCE 1. Inspect and clean lamp at least every 6 months. 2. Replace your UV-Aire™ Ai r Purifying System lamp once a year to maintain the lamps maximum output intensity. The lamp should operate continuously fo r maximum lamp life and light effectiveness.
Page 11 IX. TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE 1. If the LED is illuminating a “YELLOW” color a nd the ci rcuit board alarm beeps every 15 minutes, the lamp shoul d be replaced soon. 2. If the LED is illuminating a “RED” col or and the circui t board ala rm beeps every 5 minutes, the lamp sho uld be replaced immediately.
