This cutting tool is double ins ulated t o protect you from electrica l shock . Double insulated tools are equipped with a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the out let, reverse the plug.

Remove the plug from the power sourc e before assembl y, changing ac cessories o r cutters an d making adjustments. T his safet y action w ill help prevent accidental sta rting of t he tool w hich could result in serious injur y.
CHANGING COLLET INSERT The c utting bits for this tool ar e lock ed into plac e with a collet nu t (1) and c ollet (see F ig. 3). T he tool is assem bled at the factory with a 1 / 8 ” collet ( 2) which is used to hold the c utting bit. An addit ional ¼” colle t (3) is supplied for holdin g SMALL r outer bits with a ¼” s hank.
PRACTICE C UTS USING FRE EHAND SOLE PL A T E Before att empting t o work on an actual projec t, take the time to m ake a few practic e cuts wi th your spin saw. Us e some s craps of m aterial that are the sam e material as used in your actual proj ect.
CUTTING O UTLET OPENINGS IN DRYWALL Do not attempt to use this tool to ma ke cut-outs around any fixture or opening which has live electrica l wires or on an y wall which ma y hav e electrical wiring behind it.

FREEHAND CUTTING AND ROUT ING W hen the router base access ory is insta lled on t he spin saw, it wi ll function as a sm all router to be used f or freehand c utting of irregular s haped p atterns. You can cut patterns out of the w or kpiece wit h the cutting bit or route patterns into the work piece with small r outer bits.
CUTTING CURVED LINE WITH A TEM PLA TE To cut a c urved line, you can use a curved tem plate to guide the r outer bas e. 1. Make a tem plate from hardboard or other s imilar mater ial to the shape you requir e (see Fi g. 20). NOTE: Radi us of curve m ust be grea ter than 2 ½” f or router bas e to proper ly follow th e curved tem plate.
