T o reduce the risk of electric shock, this appliance has a polarized plug (one b lade wider than the other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one wa y . If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, re verse the plug. If it still does n ot fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet.
5 Cord Retainer . T o use, push electrical cord down into cord retainer . ON/OFF Switch . International symbol I means On, International symbol O means Off. Dust Bag Co ver Latch. Pull up on latch to remov e bag cover giving access to the dust bag and motor filter .
6 Hose Retainers (4) . Place hose in retainers to store hose on unit. Electrical Cord Hooks (2) . Wrap electrical cord around them to store electrical cord on unit. The upper cord hook rotates for quick cord release . Nested W and Storage. The cre vice wand stores inside the larger wand.

8 Cord Hook Cord Hook Store Electrical Cord Store Hose and Accessories Y ou will find y our cord retainer on the handle abov e the upper cord hook. Firmly push the electr ical cord down into the cord retainer . This will place the cord out of the wa y the next time y ou vacuum.
1 . T o use accessories remov e hose from rear of cleaner b y lifting up and twisting. 2. Place desired accessor y onto end of hose or wand. • T ur n ridge end to center.
Remove dust bag co ver b y lifting up on latch and pivoting dust bag co ver out and aw ay from cleaner . 10 The instructions in this booklet ser v e as a guide to routine maintenance. T o avoid unnecessary ser vice calls, chec k the dust bag, filters, belt, and brush roll often.
11 Pre-Motor Filter Check the pre-motor filter each time the dust bag is changed. Clean or replace as needed. T o Clean Pre-Motor Filter 1. Locate dust bag suppor t in bottom of dust bag compar tment. Remov e filter centered in the bottom of the dust bag compar tment.
12 Br ush Roll Belt Br ush Roll 5. Place ne w belt around motor shaft. 6. Place belt around brush roll pulley . 7. Align left end cap with base . Push end cap securely into place. 8. Pull right side of br ush roll to stretch belt. Secure right end cap into base.
13 Ho w T o Change Light Bulb (Only f or models with a headlight) NO TE: T urn off the power s witch and disconnect the electrical cor d bef ore changing light bulb. Lo wer handle. Remove the scre w from lens cov er . Requires a Phillips® head scre wdriver .
T o Clear Blockages in Hose NO T E: T urn off the s witch and unplug the electrical cor d bef ore clearing hose. Locate upper hose adapter on the back of the cleaner . Remov e nested wands from back of cleaner f or easy access to hose adapter tabs. Press hose adapter tabs together and pull hose adapter aw ay from cleaner .
