T o reduce the risk of electric shock, this appliance has a polarized plug (one blade wider than the other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one wa y . If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, re v erse the plug. If it still d oes not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet.

5. Y ou will find your cord retainer on the handle above the upper cord hook. Firmly push the electrical cord down into the cord retainer . This will place the cord out of the way the next time you vacuum. 6. Next wind the cord around the two cord hooks on the back of the cleaner .

Thermal Cut Off This cleaner has a special thermostat that protects the cleaner in case of motor overheating. If the cleaner suddenly turns off, follow this procedure: 1. Push on/off switch to off. 2. Unplug cleaner . 3. Check for source of overheating problem (i.
9 Ho w T o Use Accessories CA UTION: Do not place cleaner on fur niture or steps as the brush roll may cause damage. Place cleaner on floor with the handle in storage position while using accessories. 1 . Remove hose from hose adapter on the back of cleaner .
Ho w to Chec k and Clear Hose Bloc kages Low suction or poor pickup may be due to a blockage in the vacuum c leaner . 1. Remove hose from hose retainer and check suction at end of hose - if little or no suction, check dust cup . Empty if needed. If no improvement, proceed to step 2.

13 T o clean the Pleated Filter: 1. Remov e the gra y filter assemb ly by gr asping handle and lifting upward and out of the dust cup . 2. Grasp the pleated filter and turn counter clockwise to remove. 3. Lift pleated filter from cone and wash. Shake e xcess water from filter .
Cleaning and Replacing Filters HEP A Filter Inspect the HEP A filter per iodically and change as needed. F or maximum efficiency , replace the HEP A filter periodically . T o Replace HEP A Filter 1. Push down on latch and pull out on HEP A filter door to remove.
Motor will not start. Electric Plug Push plug securely into outlet. T r y another outlet. Check circuit break er . Motor suddenly stops. Thermal Cut Off Refer to page 8. Does not clean the carpet or Dust Cup and Filter(s) Empty the dust cup. Make sure the foam cone filter is fl oor clean and installed properly .
