4 The Anti -Tip Br ac k et The range will no t tip during normal use. However , the range can tip if you a pply too much force or weight to the open door wit hout t he anti-tip bracket fastened d own properly . Tip Over Hazard A child or adult can tip the range and be killed.

6 COOKTOP USE Cooktop/Ov en T emperature Cont rol s Electric ign itors automat ically light the surface bu rners whe n control knobs are turned t o LITE. Before setting a control knob, p lace filled cookware on the grat e. Do not operate a bur ner using empty cookware or without cookware on th e grate.
7 Surf ace Bur ners IMPORT ANT : Do not obstruct the flow of combustion and ventilat ion air around the bur ner grate edges. Burner cap: Always keep the bur ner cap in place wh en using a surface bur ner . A cle an burn er cap will help prevent poor ign ition and uneven flames.
8 O V EN USE Odors are normal when the range is new . This happen s the first time the oven is u sed or when the ove n is heavily soil ed. IMPORT ANT : The health of some birds is ex tremely sensitive t o the f umes gi ven of f. Expo sure to the f umes ma y res ult in de ath to certain birds.
9 BAKEWARE T o cook food evenly , hot air mu st be able to circ ulate. Allow 2 in. (5 cm) of space a r ound bakeware and ov en walls. Use the following chart as a guid e. Bak ew are The bakeware mat erial affects cooking results. Fol low manufact urer ’ s recommendations an d use the bakeware size recommended in the recipe.
10 ■ Pull out br oiler pan to stop p osition before turning or removing food. Use tongs to turn food to avoid the loss of juices. Very thin cuts of fish, poultr y or meat may not need to be tur ned. ■ After b roil ing, re move the p an fro m the ov en whe n rem oving the food.
11 OVEN CA VITY Food spills should be cleaned when ov en cools. At high temperatures, foods react with porcelain an d staining, e tching, pittin g or fa int white s pots ca n r esult. On som e models, the oven door can be r emoved. See “ Ov en Door ” first.
12 Remo ving the Oven Bottom The oven bottom can be removed for st andard cleaning of the oven. Before cleaning, make sure the ove n is completely cool. To R e m o v e : 1. Remove the ove n racks. 2. Place f ingers in the sl ots in th e bottom pan el.
