6 Installing Your WorkForce 310 Series on a Network Install Software F ollow the steps in this section for each computer you want to use with y our printer over the network. 1. Insert the printer software CD in your computer ’ s CD or DVD drive. 2. Windows Vista ® : I f you see the A utoPlay window , click Run SETUP.

When you see the Fir ewall W arning screen, click Next . Note: If you see a firewall alert message click Unbl ock or Allow to let EpsonNet Setup continue.

Note: It may take up to 90 seconds for your computer to find the EPSO N TCPIP printer on the network.

14 Loading Paper Loading Paper Y ou can print documents and photos on a variety of paper types and sizes. F or details, see page 15. 1. Open the paper support and pull up the extensions. Then pul l out the output tray extensions, and raise the paper stop per .
Using Special Papers 15 Y ou can load up to 100 sheets of plain pa per or 20 sheets of photo paper . Load other special papers one sheet at a time. See your on-screen Epson Information Center for more information. Note: The type of paper you choose affects the way your printout looks.

22 Faxing a Document Faxing a Document Y our W orkForce 310 Series lets you send faxes by entering fax numbers, selecting entries fr om a speed dial list, or us in g the one-touch dial buttons. Using the Automatic D ocument F eeder , you can fax up to 30 pages at a time.

24 Faxing a Document Setting Up Fax Features Before sending fax es, you should crea te a fax header and select your fax preferences. Note: T o change other settings, print fax reports, or set up fax features using the Epson F AX Utility (Windows only), se e the on-screen Epson Information Center .

Y ou can also set up a group dial list to automatically send the same fax message to multiple spee d dial numbers (see your on-scr een Epson Information Center for details).

The Epson Scan softwar e provides three scanning modes: ■ Office Mode previews your image and scans text documents quickly .

46 Maintaining Your WorkForce 3 10 Series Replacing Ink Cartridges Make sure you have a new ink cartridge befor e you begin. Y ou must install new cartridges immediately aft er remo ving the old ones . Caution: Do not open ink cartridge packages until you are ready to install the ink.

Caution: Do not touch the green chip on the front of the cartridge. This can damage the ink cartridge. 5. Remo ve the yellow tape from the bottom of the ink cartridge.

If you copy a legal-size document , your image will be cropped. ■ Make sure y our original is positioned against the back left corner of the scanner glass.
