Menu Settings and Explanations Layout With Border Copies with a border around the edges. 2-up Copies multiple page originals onto one sheet. When placing originals in the ADF , inser t them into the feeder from the t op or left edge . Load vertical originals as shown below , and select Po r t ra it from Document Orientation .
Menu Settings and Explanations Layout Order Select the copy layout for multiple pages when you have selected 2-up or 4-up as the Lay out setting. Scan Order Select which page of a boo klet to scan when you have selected Split P ages as the Lay out setting.
Menu Settings and Explanations Location Communication Mode Select the communication mode. Location Enter a folder path in which to save the scanned image. User Name Ent er a user name for the specied folder . P asswor d Enter a pa sswor d for t he specied f older .
Menu Settings and Explanations Resolution Select the scan ning resolution. Scan Area Select the scan area. Auto Cropping: Crops the white space around the text or image when scanni ng. Max Area: Scans at the maximum sc an area of the scanner glass or the ADF .

Menu Settings and Explanations Maintenance Print Head Nozzle Check Prints a pattern to check if the print head nozzles are clogged. Prin t He ad Cleaning Cleans clogged nozzles in the print head. Prin t He ad Alignment Adjusts the print head to improve print qualit y.

Menu Settings and Explanations Common Settings L CD Brightness Adjust the brightness of the L CD screen. Sound Adjust the volume and selec t the ty pe of audio. Sleep T imer Select the time per iod before the printer enters sleep mode (energy saving mode) when no operations are performed.

2. Slide the front edge guide to i ts maximum position, and then slide the side ed ge guides to adj ust to the paper size you want to use. 3. Load pap er with the printable side facing down, and then slide the f ron t edge guide to the edge of the pap er .

❏ Fan and align the edges of the en velopes before loading. When the stacked en velopes are pued up with air , pr ess them down to atten them befo re loadin g. ❏ Do not use envelo pes that are curled or folded. U sing these envelopes caus es paper ja ms and smears on the pr intout .
Placing Originals Place originals on the scanner g lass or the ADF . U se t he scanner glass for originals that the AD F does not su pport. Y ou can scan multip le originals and both sides of the o riginals at the same time with the AD F . A vailable Originals for the ADF Available P ape r Sizes A6 landscape/A5 to Ledger (Maximum 297 × 431.
3. Place the originals in the center o f the ADF , facing up . c Impor t ant: Do not lo ad or ig inals above th e line just under the d symbol inside the edge g uide. Not e: Y ou can place or iginal s smaller than A4 size w ith the long edge facing toward the ADF .
Placing Originals on the Scanner Glass ! Caution: Be carefu l not to trap your ngers when cl osi ng t he doc umen t cover . Otherwise you ma y be inj ur ed. c Impor t ant: When plac ing bulky orig inals such a s books , prevent ex ter ior lig ht from shinin g directly onto the scanner g lass.

Managing C onta c ts Registering a co ntacts list allows you to easily enter dest inations. Y ou can register up to 200 en tries, and you can use the con tacts list for faxin g, Scan to Email , and Sc a n to Network Fol der /FTP . Y ou can also register contacts in the LDAP server .

Co p y i n g 1. Load pape r in the prin ter . 2. Place the originals. 3. Enter Co py fro m the home screen. 4. Enter the number of co pies by using the n umeric keypad. 5. Pres s La y ou t , and then select the ap pro priate layou t. 6. Make other settings as nece ssar y .
Sc anning Scanning Using the C ontro l P anel Scanning to an Email Y ou can send scanne d image les by email directly from the p rinter thro ugh a pre-congured email s er ver . Before using this f eature , yo u need to congure the email ser ver .
Sc anning to a Network F older or FTP Ser ver Y ou can save the sc anned image to a specied folder on a network. Y ou can specif y the folder by en tering a folder pa th d ire ct ly , but it may be e a sie r if you reg ister the fo lder inf ormatio n in the co ntacts list rst.
6. Pres s Set ti ng s , and then make scan s ettings. Not e: ❏ When you se lect P DF as t he le format, you ca n set a password to pr otect the le. Select PDF S ett ing s , and then make set tings. ❏ Press Preset to save your setti ngs as a pre set.
