3 v Do not place the unit in locations where it wil l be exposed to greasy smoke or steam, such as cooking areas or near humidifiers, or in ve ry humid or dusty locations. v Do not store the unit in direct sunli ght or near heaters. v Do not place the unit in locations where it will be subject to a lo t of vibration.
4 Check the following list to confirm that you have all of the supplied items. If by any chance there is anything missing or damaged , please contact your dealer. * The Soft carr ying case is not included when the unit is packaged together with a projector .
5 Top/Side/Rear Part Names and Functions Name Function Camera head Rotate the camera head ±90° to display image s of a document or from a wall. Foot Extend the foot on the bottom of the ca se when using the document camera. Camera arm Extend or retract the camera arm to adjust the height of the camera head.
6 Camera Head Power indicator This indicator come s on when power is su pplied from a projector or computer. USB terminal (type B) This terminal is used to connect the unit to a proje ctor or computer using the supplied USB cable . Name Function Image rotation dial Turn this dial to rotate the displayed image ±90°.
7 Connect the document camera to a proje ctor us ing the USB cable that is supplied with the unit. For information on the p rojectors that can be connected, see the User's Guide supplied with the projector. A Extend the foot, and th en hold the base and raise the camera head.
8 D To display using the document camera , co nnect the supp lied USB cable (3. 0 m) to the USB terminal (type A) identified by the Docu ment Camera icon on the projector. Connecting to a Projector through a Computer For information on connecting to a computer , see “Connecti ng to a Computer to Display Images” on page 9.
9 Displaying Live Action or an Image from a Whiteboard A Turn the camera h ead to d isplay liv e action or an image from a whitebo ard or wall. B If you want to rotate the image, turn the image rotation dial. To connect the document camera to a comput er, you must install the included ArcSoft Application software for ELPDC06.
10 This section explains how to operate the unit when it is connecte d to a computer. In the following explana tions, unless otherwi se n oted, Windows scr een shots are used.
11 For Macintosh A Turn on the computer. B Insert the CD-ROM in to the computer . C Double-click the "ArcSoft Application software for EL PDC06" icon in the EPSON window. Installation starts. D When the installation complete screen ap pears, clic k "Finish".
12 Uninstalling the Software For Windows Click "Add or Remove Programs" or "Unins tall a program" in "Start" - "Settings" - "Control Panel" and delete the ArcS oft Application software for ELPDC06.
13 C The capture screen appears. See the tabl e below for details on using the capture screen. This screen consists of tw o windows: t he capture album windo w and the capture preview window . In the capture scree n, you can use the docu ment camera to capture still images or videos.
14 ■ Using the capture screen Compatible File Formats Returns to the start screen. Switches to the editing screen. Specifies the file format and resolution for cap tured images. Displays and changes the detailed settin gs and properties for the camera.
15 Editing Saved Images A Start the A rcSoft Appl icat ion software for ELPDC06. Click "Start" - "Programs" (or "All Program s") - ArcSoft Application software for ELPDC06. B The start screen appear s. Click "Edit" .
16 Reverse Reverses the image left to right. Undo/redo Undo your last a ction or redo the last action you undid. Resize Changes the size o f the selected photo. In the displayed win dow, enter the di mensions fo r the width and height of the photo or click "Keep Aspect Ratio".
