15 Use r ’ s Guide Installation Settin g Up the Pr oject o r The projector supports the follo wing four dif ferent projection methods, allo w ing you to choose the best method for displaying your images. * A special method of installation is required for suspending the projector from the ceiling.
16 Installation Use r ’ s Guide Screen Siz e an d Projection Dist ance The distance between the projector's lens and the scr een determines the actual image si ze. While referring to the follo wing table, position the projector so that the images are projec ted onto the sc reen at the optimum size.

Enough of th e PC car d will b e ejected s o that yo u can grasp th e edge of the card and pull it st raight out of the slot.

Y ou can output sound from connected video equipment (such as a computer or video deck) through the projector's built-in speak er if the video equipment has an audio output port.

40 Use r ’ s Guide Adjusting the Screen Image These functions co rrect and adjust the projected ima ges so that optimum images can be obtained. Adjusting the Image Size (Zoom Functio n) The size of the projected image is basically determined by the distance from the projector to the screen.

If you can not set up the projetor so that it is at right angle to the screen surface, y ou can tilt the projector up.
42 Adjusting the S creen Image Use r ’ s Guide PROCEDURE While pulling the foot adjust lever at the front of the projector , l ift up the front of the projector to e xtend the front adjustable f oot. Extend the front adjustable foot until the desired angle is obtained, and then release the foot adjust lever .
43 Adjusting the S creen Image Use r ’ s Guide Manu all y Correct ing K eys tone D istortion The projector is provided with an automatic ke ystone corr ection function which detects the vertical angle of the projector and carries out keystone correction automatically .

50 Use r ’ s Guide Functions f or Enhancing Pr ojection This section describes the v arious useful functions that can be used to enhance presentations.
51 Functions for Enhancing Projection Use r ’ s Guide Free ze This function pauses only the projected images. The sound keeps playing without pausing. The image source will still be playing back the images e v en while projection is paused, and so i t will not be possible to resume projection from the point where it was paused.
52 Functions for Enhancing Projection Use r ’ s Guide E-Zo om This function lets you enlarg e and reduce a par t of projected images such as graphs and tables. PROCEDURE Press the [E-Zoom ] button. A cursor (cross) indicating the centre point for the area to be enlarged will appear on the screen.
53 Functions for Enhancing Projection Use r ’ s Guide P ointe r functio n This function lets you use the re mote control to mov e a pointer icon around on the images being projected. This function can be used to emphasise parts of an image that you want to draw attent ion to.

55 Use r ’ s Guide Using the Configuration Men u Functions The configuration menus can be used to carry out a v ariety of settings and adjustments. The menus hav e a hier archical structure, with a main menu that is divided into sub-menus, which are further di vided into other sub-menus.

73 Use r ’ s Guide Using the Help If a problem occurs with the projector, th e Help function uses on-screen displays to assist you in solving the problem. It uses a series of menus in a question and answer format. PROCEDURE Press the [Help] button. The help menu will be displ ayed.
74 Using the Help Use r ’ s Guide Repeat the operations in steps 2 and 3 to proceed through the menu to more detailed items. The help menu is cleared when the [Help] button is pressed. 4 TIP If the Help function does not provide a solution to the problem, ref er to "Problem Solving" s p.

99 Use r ’ s Guide Maintenance This section describes maintenance tasks such as cleaning the proje ctor and replacing consumable parts. Clea ning Y ou should clean the projector if it becomes dirty or if the quality of projected images starts to deteriorate.
100 Maintenance Use r ’ s Guide Replacing C onsuma bles This section describes ho w to replace the lamp and the air filters. It is time to replac e the lamp when: • The messa ge "Rep lace the Lamp ." appears on the scr een wh en proj ect ion s tar ts.
101 Maintenance Use r ’ s Guide PROCEDURE T urn off the projector's power , wait until the "pip-pip" confirmation b uzz er sounds, and then disconne ct the power cable. W ait until the lamp has cooled down, then remo ve the lamp cover fr o m the base of the projector .
102 Maintenance Use r ’ s Guide T ake out the lamp. Hold the lamp as shown in the illustration below and lift it up and out of the projector . If the lamp is broken replace it w ith a new lamp, or contact your local dealer for further advice. If re placing the lamp yoursel f, be careful to av oid pie ces of broken glass.
103 Maintenance Use r ’ s Guide The projector has a built-in counter which k eeps track of the lamp operatin g time. When the c umulati ve opera ting time rea ches a certa in point, it causes the replacement warning message to be displayed.
