2-2 Sca nni ng Bas ics Scanning Procedure For reflectiv e documents You need to perf orm the following procedure to sca n the reflectiv e documents on yo ur scanner u sing a TWAI N-compliant appli catio n. Det ails ar e desc ribed below . 1. Place a doc ument on the scanner .
2 Scan ning Bas ics 2-3 4. In the appl ication, open E PSON TWAIN 5 using a command such as Acquire. 5. E PS ON TW AIN a uto mati ca lly pre vie ws th e im ages , and recognizes the document so urce and typ e. Images are automatical ly optimized and scanned.
2-4 Sca nni ng Bas ics 2. If the reflect ive document mat is not attached, you need to attach it. Hold the top of the document mat and slide it down gently al ong the inte grated TPU. Note: When scanning reflective documents, make sure the reflective document mat is attached.
2 Scan ning Bas ics 2-5 4. Place th e document on the document t able, with the side to be scanned facing d own. Make sure that the document is carefull y aligned with in the corn er of the document table as shown below. Note: The area with a width of maximum 2.

Note: ❏ Do not leave photographs on the document table for an extended period of time as they may stick to the glass. ❏ Make sure the document is flat agains t the glass surface, otherwise the image will appear fuzzy and ou t of focus.
