It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that all users of this treadmill are adequately informed of all warnings and precautions.
4 19. The heart rate monitor is not a medical device. V arious factors, including the user’s movement, may affect the accuracy of heart rate readings. The heart rate monitor is in- tended only as an exercise aid in determining heart rate trends in general.

The TL 2710 treadmill offers an im- pressive selection of features designed to make your workouts at home more enjoyable and effective. An d when you’re not exercising, the unique treadm ill can be folded up, requiring less than half the oor space of other treadmills.
6 P ART IDENTIFICA TION CHART Use the drawings below to identify small parts used for assembly . The number in parentheses below each draw- ing is the key number of the part, from the P ART LIST near the end of this manual. The number following the key number is the quantity used for assembly .
7 • To hire a service technician to assemble this prod - uct in your home, call 1-800-445-2480. • Assembly requires two persons. • Place all parts in a cleared area and remove the packing materials. Do not dispose of the packing materials until you nish all assembly steps.
8 2. Identify the Right Upright (92), which is marked with a “Right” sticker. Have a second person hold the Right Upright (92) near the Right Base Cover (102). See the inset drawing. Tie the wire tie in the lower end of the Right Upright securely around the end of the Upright Wire (93).
9 4. Have a second person hold the console assem - bly near the Uprights (91, 92). Connect the Upright Wire (93) to the Console Wire (88). See the inset drawing. The connec- tors should slide together easily and snap into place. If they do not, turn one connector and try again.
10 6. Partially tighten three 3/8" x 1 1/4" Screws (2) with three 3/8" Star Washers (6) into the Right Upright (92); do not fully tighten the Screws yet. Repeat this step with the Left Upright (91). Firmly tighten all six 3/8" x 1 1/4" Screws (2).
11 8. Raise the Frame (67) to the position shown. Have a second person hold the Frame until this step is completed. Orient the Storage Latch (87) so that the large barrel and the latch knob are in the positions shown. Attach the Storage Latch (87) to the bracket on the Base (103) with a 3/8” x 2” Bolt (4) and a 3/8” Jam Nut (7).
12 OPERATION AND ADJUSTMENT HOW TO PLUG IN THE POWER CORD Your treadmill, like other electronic equipment, can be damaged by sudden voltage changes in your home’s power. To decrease the risk of damaging your treadmill, always use a surge suppressor with your treadmill (see drawing 1 at the right).
13 FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE The treadmill console offers an impressive array of features designed to make your workouts more effec- tive and enjoyable. The console features revolutionary iFit Live technology that enables the treadmill to com- municate with your wireless network.
14 HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER IMPORTANT: If the treadmill has been exposed to cold temperatures, allow it to warm to room tem- perature before you turn on the power. If you do not do this, you may damage the console display or other electrical components.
15 HOW TO SET UP THE CONSOLE Before using the treadmill for the first time, set up the console. 1. Connect to your wireless network. Note: In order to access the Internet, download iFit Live workouts, and use other features of the con- sole, you must be connected to a wireless network.
16 HOW TO USE THE MANUAL MODE 1. Insert the key into the console. See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 14. Note: It may take a minute for the console to be ready for use. 2. Select the main menu. When you turn on the power, the main menu should ap- pear after the console boots up.
17 The displays at the top of the screen can show two types of information. Touch each display until the display shows the desired information. If desired, adjust the volume by pressing the Vol increase and decrease buttons on the console. To pause the workout, touch one of the menu but- tons or press the Stop button on the console.
18 HOW TO USE AN ONBOARD WORKOUT 1. Insert the key into the console. See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 14. 2. Select an onboard workout. T o select an onboard workout, touch the runner icon in the lower left corner of the screen. In the Workouts menu, touch the Calorie but- ton, the Intensity button, the Speed button, or the Incline button.
19 HOW TO USE A SET-A-GOAL WORKOUT 1. Insert the key into the console. See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 14. 2. Select the main menu. See step 2 on page 16. 3. Select a set-a-goal workout. To select a set-a-goal workout, touch the Set A Goal button on the screen or press the Set A Goal button on the console.
20 HOW TO USE AN IFIT LIVE WORKOUT Note: To use an iFit Live workout, you must have ac- cess to a wireless network (see HOW TO USE THE WIRELESS NETWORK MODE on page 23). An iFit Live account is also required. 1. Insert the key into the console. See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 14.
21 HOW TO USE THE EQUIPMENT SETTINGS MODE The console features an equipment settings mode that allows you to select a language and the unit of measurement, to turn on and turn off the display demo mode, and to enable or disable the key. 1. Select the settings main menu.
22 HOW TO USE THE MAINTENANCE MODE The console features a maintenance mode that allows you to update the console firmware, calibrate the in- cline of the treadmill, calibrate the screen, view techni- cal information, and view a button’s keycode. 1. Select the settings main menu.
23 HOW TO USE THE WIRELESS NETWORK MODE The console features a wireless network mode that al- lows you to set up a wireless network connection. 1. Select the settings main menu. See step 1 on page 21. 2. Select the wireless network mode. In the settings main menu, touch the Wireless Network button to enter the wireless network mode.
24 HOW TO USE THE STEREO SOUND SYSTEM To play music or audio books through the console’s speakers, you must connect your MP3 player, CD player, or other personal audio player to the console. Locate the audio wire. Plug one end into the audio jack on the side of the console.
25 HOW TO FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL HOW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL To avoid damaging the treadmill, a djust the incline to the lowest position before you fold the treadmill.
26 Most treadmill problems can be solved by following the simple steps below. Find the symptom that applies, and follow the steps listed. If further assis- tance is needed, see the front cover of this manual.
27 Lower the treadmill (see HOW TO LOWER THE TREADMILL FOR USE on page 25). Remove the four indicated #8 x 3/4" Screws (1), and remove the Motor Hood (75). Next, locate the Reed Switch (53) and the Magnet (58) on the left side of the Pulley (59).
28 SYMPTOM: The walking belt is off-center or slips when walked on a. If the walking belt is off-center, rst remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD.
