- 2 - I NTRODUCTION This Softwar e User Guide provides detailed instructions on operating Ult ra View , a customized sof tware appli cation with a user-friendly i nterface allowing you to a ccess and control your camera(s). You ca n connect up to 16 cameras to mon i tor diff erent places and record events f or each came ra.
- 3 - I NST ALLA TION Firstly, insert the Installation CD-ROM in to t he CD drive of your computer to i nitiate t he Auto-Run progra m. The Auto-Run scree n provides the following butt ons: z Quick Guide z Advanced Guide z Software Ma nual z IP Finder z Install Softw are z Browse z Exit To start instal ling: 1.
- 4 - 2. On the welcom e scre en, click Nex t . 3. Click Browse to select the destinati on location to install the software; otherwi se, leave the default sett ing and click Next .
- 5 - 4. Click Next a gain to confirm installation. The set up wi zard starts to install the softwar e and the pro gress bar indi cate s the installation is proceeding.
- 6 - U SING U LT R A V IEW To launch the program This section descri bes the user inte rface and op erati ng instruct ion s of Ultra View. To launch the program, cli ck Start > Programs > Ultra.
- 7 - Item features The following describes t h e func tion of each item on the main screen: CONTROLS Panel - SETTING: Click to enter the Setti ng screen of Ultra View.
- 8 - VIEW SELECTION Panel - View mode buttons: Ultra View provide s multiple view modes, including 1/4/9/16 wi ndows and Full screen m ode. - SCAN: When you conn ect multiple ca meras, click thi s button to display the video vi ews as the main window in turn.
- 9 - CAMERA Panel - TRIGGER OUT: Click to turn on the t ri gger out conn ector of the camera. This button is available onl y when the connected camera suppor ts the trigger out conn ecto r, whic h is us ed to c ontro l the ex ternal device connected to the camera, such as a light.
- 10 - SYSTEM Panel This panel displa ys the current date and time. PAN-TILT CONT ROL Pa nel (optional) When you conne ct a pan/tilt camera, the syst em will detect the camera’s funct ion a uto maticall y and the PAN-TILT CONTROL butt ons will b ecome functio nal.
- 1 1 - Video View Window and Camera Lis t - Video View Window: This windo w displays the vi deo view of the selected camera, w h ich can be divided into 4/ 9/ 16 windows a ccording to your se lection in VIEW SELECTION panel. - Camera List: This list disp l ays t he information of the co nnected camera( s).
- 12 - To add a camera 1. Click SETTING in the CONTRO LS panel to display the Setting screen . 2. Click Add Ne w Camera ..
- 13 - 3. In the pop-up Add New Camera di alog window, you can: z Select the Search tab if you are not sure of the came ra’s IP address. Click Search camera to search the avail able camera withi n the network. Once the camera i s found and is shown in t he list, select it and cli ck Add Ca mera .
- 14 - 4. Enter the User name and Password for the cam era, and then click OK . The connected camera w ill be displayed in the Camera List. 5. Click SETTING to return to the Vi deo View Window. The video view of the selected ca mera will be displayed now.
- 15 - To remove a camera 1. Click SETTING in the CONTRO LS panel to display the Setting screen . 2. Select a camera fro m the list and clic k Delete Camera .
- 16 - To record video Ultra View provides three methods to re cord vid eo clips: one i s to click the RE CORD/ ALL RE CO RD b utt on to record manually; the second is to record by motion det ection; the third is to set the recording schedule in Setti ng > Recordi ng Con figuration > Schedule Recording Configura tion .
- 17 - z Schedule recording This recording method will wo rk after you have compl et ed the required settings in Schedule Recording Configuration . The recording schedul e can b e def ined by Dates or Days . - Dates: First , select t he ca mera from the pull-down list.
- 18 - - Days: First, select the camera fr om the pull-dow n list and select Days tab. Then, select the weekday fro m the day buttons and t hen set the time period.
- 19 - z Reserved H DD space for each ca mera: Thi s option allows you to set to reserve t he storage space on the hard disk drive for the recording of each camera. Before set ting the reserve space on the h ard di sk dri ve , you ca n check the available st orage spa ce that is displayed in t he HDD Free space field.
- 20 - To playback the recorded video The recorded video clips are sav ed in your co mput er, and can be played using the media player on the co mput er, such as Windo ws Media Player.
- 21 - To set up motion detecti on options When the motion det ection func tion of t he select ed camera i s enabled, yo u can set the M otion Op tions by selecting Alarm , Recording , Send e-Mail , and Trigge r Out un der SETTING > Motion Configuration .
- 22 - - Mail Se rver: Enter the mail server addre ss. For example, mymail.com . - Mail From : Enter t he email addres s of the user who wi ll send the email. For exa mpl e, John@m ymail.com . - Mail To : Enter the email addre ss of the user who will receive the email.
