1 Thank you For purchasing the “CD Cruiser TM ” Portable CD audio system from Emerson. This uniquely designed product has a built-in CD/CD-R/CD-RW player with programmable memory and repeat playback.
2 PREP ARA TION FOR USE Unpacking and Setup • Carefully remove the unit from the display carton and remove all packing material from the unit itself. • Remove any descriptive labels that may be found on either the front or top cabinet of the unit.
Battery Operation The battery compartment is located on the bottom of the cabinet. • Remove the battery compartment door by sliding the battery compartment open. • Insert 8 ‘C’ size (UM-2) batteries into the battery compartment as shown in the figure below.

5 OPERA TING INSTRUCTIONS Slide the FUNCTION switch to the AM or FM ST position; the POWER indicator will light. NOTE: If you select the FM band, be sure to raise the FM rod antenna and extend it to its full length. 1 Adjust the VOLUME ❶ and BASS BOOST ❷ as desired.
6 Place a CD on the center spindle, with the printed label side facing up. Close the CD Compartment Door. 4 Slide the FUNCTION switch to the CD position; the POWER indicator will light. 1 Press the CD Door OPEN/CLOSE area to open the CD Compartment Door.
7 During CD playback, if you wish to pause the disc momentarily, press the PLAY/PAUSE ( ❿ ) button again. Playback stops but the disc continues to spin and the PLAY/PAUSE indicator will blink. 1 Press the PLAY/PAUSE ( ❿ ) button again to release Pause and resume normal CD playback.
8 To repeat a single track, press the REPEAT button ❶ once; the REPEAT indicator will blink. Press the SKIP/Search or button ❷ to select the specific track that you wish to repeat. When the desired track number appears in the display, press the PLAY/PAUSE ( ❿ ) button ❸ to begin playback.
9 Press the SKIP/Search or button ❶ to select the first track that you wish to program. Example: Track 5. When the desired track number (Track 5) appears in the display, press the PROGRAM button ❷ again, the next program number will then appear in the display.
Caring for Compact Discs • Treat the disc carefully. Handle the disc only by its edges. Never allow your fi ngers to come in contact with the shiny, unprinted side of the disc. • Do not attach adhesive tape, stickers, etc. to the disc label. • Clean the disc periodically with a soft, lint-free, dry cloth.
