The location should be clean, dry, well ventilated, properly drained, and provide accessibility for inspection, lubrication, and maintenance.

U.S. ELECTRICAL MOTORS INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE B . Parallel Alignment (See Figure 3B) Fasten a dial indicator onto one coupling hub with the indicator button on the cylindrical surface of the opposite coupling hub. Rotate shafts together and take readings at four points, 90° apart.
U.S. ELECTRICAL MOTORS INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE 5. Reversing Rotation The direction of rotation may be reversed by interchanging any two, of the three power phases to the motor leads. Be sure that the power is off and steps are taken to prevent accidental starting of the motor before attempting to change any electrical connections.
