4 P R E P A R A T I O N F O R U S E Unpacking and Set Up • Carefully remove the unit from the display carton. Remove all the packing material from the unit and remove any small strips of tape that may have been used to prevent the CD door from opening in transit.
5 2.) Connect a fresh 9- Volt alkaline battery to the battery terminal in the battery compartment. It can only be connected one way. 3.) Replace the battery door. If the power is interrupted the display will go ‘ Off ’ and the radio will not work.
6 AC Plug AC Outlet Power Source This radio is designed to operate on 120V 60Hz AC onl y . Attempting to operate this radio on any other power source could cause damage to the unit and such damage is not covered by your warranty. Make sure the radio is connected to an AC outlet that is always “ live ” .

9 • Make sure you have installed the back-up battery in the battery compartment. • Make sure you have extended the AC power cord and the FM antenna wire to their full lengths.
10 Setting The Wake-Up Times The procedure for setting the Alarm 1 and Alarm 2 wake up times is the same. 1.) Slide the ALARM 1 switch, located on the left side of the cabinet to the “ SET ” position. The display changes from the correct time to the Alarm 1 wake-up time.
11 Listening To The Radio 1.) Slide the Function selector ( RADIO / CD / BUZZ ) switch, located on the right side cabinet, to the “ RADIO ” position. 2.) Slide the Band selector ( AM / FM / FM ST. ) switch, located on the right side cabinet, to the desired band.
12 Hints For Better Reception FM – The FM lead wire antenna on the back panel should be extended to its full length. You may also have to vary the direction of this antenna until you find the position that provides the best reception. AM – The AM ferrite bar antenna is inside the cabinet.

14 5.) The disc will spin for a few seconds as the player reads the disc. Then the disc will stop and the display will show the total number of tracks on the disc. After 5 seconds the display returns to the correct time. 6.) Press the PL AY/PAUSE button on the front panel to begin playback on track 01.
15 / Skip/Search Controls During playback press the SKIP/SEARCH FWD or SKIP/SEARCH REV buttons on the front panel repeatedly to skip forward or back to higher or lower numbered tracks.
16 Special Playback Modes Repeat Playback Y ou can program the player to continuously repeat a single track or the entire disc. The Repeat mode can be selected while the disc is playing or while the disc is stopped. Single Track Repeat Select the track to be repeated and then press the REPE AT button on the front panel once .
17 Random Playback The Random playback feature allows you to play all the tracks on a disc in random order. 1.) Load your disc in the player as usual and wait until the total tracks appear on the display. 2.) Press the RANDOM button on the front panel.
18 Programmed Playback Use the Programmed Playback feature to play up to 20 tracks on a disc in any desired orde r . You may also program a particular track to play several times within a programmed sequence if desired. Note : You cannot program a disc while it is playing.
19 5.) When you have completed programming the desired tracks press the PL AY/ PA USE button to begin programmed playback. The PROGRAM indicator stops flashing and remains ‘ On ’. Playback will begin on the first track you programmed and will continue until the last programmed track has played.
20 Alarm Function Y ou can use the alarm function to wake you to an electronic Buzzer tone, the Radio, or your favorite CD. First slide the ALARM 1 or ALARM 2 selector switches to the “ SET ” to check the Wake Up time settings. Adjust the Wake Up times if necessar y.
21 Wake To Radio 1.) Tune to the desired radio station and adjust the volume to the level you want to hear in the morning when the alarm comes on. Press the POWER button to shut the system ‘ Off ’. 2.) Slide the ALARM 1 and/or ALARM 2 selector switches on the left side panel to the “ ON ” position.
22 Wake To CD 1.) Load the desired CD, begin playback and adjust the volume to the desired level. Press the POWER button to shut the system ‘ Off ’. 2.) Slide the ALARM 1 and/or ALARM 2 selector switches on the left side panel to the “ ON ” position.
