9 This player can playback discs bearing any of the following marks: Note-1 • DVD players and discs are designed with region numbers which dictate the regions in which a disc can be played. If the region number on the disc you want to play does not match the region number in your DVD player, you will not be able to play the disc.
10 Disc handling precautions • To keep the disc clean, handle the disc by its edge. Do not touch the surface. • Do not stick paper or tape on the disc. If there is glue (or a similar substance) on the disc, remove the glue completely before using the disc.

16 • The center speaker , as well as the other 4 satellites, can be positioned either vertically or horizontally . Since the center speaker may look more aesthetically pleasing in the horizontal position we have omitted the name plate from the front of the center speaker .

18 After you have connected all 6 speakers to the main unit and positioned the speakers as described on the previous page, the next step is to adjust the sound level of each of the 5 satellites, using the Test Tone, so that the level at your normal listening position seems to be the same.

22 Using the title menu A DVD is divided into long sections of a picture or a music piece called "titles". Normally , a title is composed of several chapters. When you play a DVD which contains several titles, you can select the title (or chapter) you want using the title menu.

24 You can play the contents of the disc in the order you want by arranging the order of the tracks on the disc to create your own program. One program can be stored in the system and contain up to 99 tracks. Note • This function is not available for DVD and MP3 disc.

33 Center Speak er Setting The default setting for the center speaker is 'On'. It must be left 'On' to enjoy the Dolby Digital soundtracks from DVD movies. It is not necessary to shut the center speaker off. When you play an audio CD, or a movie that only has a stereo soundtrack, no sound will be heard front the center speaker .

39 Adjusting the V olume and T one Controls Note: While the Bass Mode is set to CONFIGURA TION 1 (see page 34) the default setting, all bass sounds are directed to the subwoofer only . Y ou cannot adjust the bass level of the 5 compact satellite speakers.
