6 GRILL AND OVEN FURNITURE The following items of grill and ove n furniture have been supplied with the applian ce. If you require replacements of any of the items listed below plea se contact your local Servic e Force Centre, quoting the relevant part number.
7 BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE RATING PLATE This is situated on the l ower front frame of the appliance and can be se en upon opening the door. Alternatively the rating plate may also be found on the back or top of some models (where applicable). The appliance must be protected by a suitably rated fuse or circuit breake r.

9 TO CANCEL THE COUNTDOWN If you change your min d and want to cancel the 'Countdown' , press the Time Selector button ( ) until the 'Cou ntdown' indicator neon ( ) flash es then depress the decrease contro l ( ) until 0 0.00 shows in the di splay as Fig.
10 B) TO SET THE TIMER TO SWITCH OFF ONLY i) Ensure the electricity suppl y is switched ON and that the correct time is displayed, e.g. 9.00 a.m. as Fig. 10. ii) Set the oven control to the required function an d temperature. iii) Place food in the oven.
11 OTHER FUNCTIONS CHILD SAFETY DEVICE To avoid children switching on the oven it is possibl e to lock the hob and oven controls. ACTIVATING THE CHILD SAFETY DE VICE • The hob and oven must be on but no hob or oven function must be selected. • Press the child safety selector until an audible signal sound s .
12 THE CERAMIC HOB Do not use the appliance if the ceramic glass is damaged. If a fault or crack becomes visible, disconnect the a ppliance immediately from the electricity sup ply and contact your local Service Force Centre. 14 SAFETY CUT-OUT If after switching on the cooking surface, a h eat setting is not set for a cooking zone within approximately 10 se conds, the cooking surface automatically switches itself off. If one or more sensor fields are covered for longer than approximately 10 second s, e.
15 SECOND OVEN INTELLIGENT GRILL CAUTION: Accessible parts may be hot when the grill is in use. Young children should be kept away. The grill is a dual circuit grill which means that the full area of the grill can be used or for economy purposes, the centre section only can be used when cooking smaller quantities of food.
16 THE GRILL PAN AND HANDLE The grill pan is supplied wit h a removable handle. To attach the handle, press the button on the handle with the thumb and inse rt the lip into the widest pa rt of the bracket. Slide the handle toward s the left and release the button.
17 SECOND OVEN CONVENTIONAL COOKING The second ove n is the smaller of the two o vens. It is heated by elements in the top and bottom of the oven. It is designed for cooking smaller q uantities of food. It gives especially good re sults if used to cook fruit cakes, sweet and savour y flans or qui ch e.
18 HINTS AND TIPS • Arrange the shelves in the require d positions before switching the oven ON. Shelf positio ns are counted from the bottom upwards. • There should always be at least 2.5cm (1”) between the top of the food and the element. This gives best cooking results and allo ws room for rise in yeast mixtures, Yorkshi re puddings etc.

20 MAIN OVEN ULTRA FAN ® FAN COOKING The fan oven is particul arly suitable for cooki ng larger quantities of food. The advantages of Ultra Fan ® Fan Cooking are: PREHEATING The fan oven quickly reaches its tem perature, so it is not usually necessary to preheat the oven.
21 TO FIT THE MAIN OVEN SHELVES The shelves sho uld be fitted with the straight ro ds uppermost on the fram e and the forms to wards the back of the oven. To remove a shelf slide the shelf towards you until the shelf stop is rea ched. Tilt shelf up at the front s o that the stops clear the side supports.
22 MAIN OVEN CONVENTIONAL COOKING This form of cooking gives you the opportunity t o cook without the fan in operation. It is particularly suitable for dishe s which require extra base browning su ch as pizzas, quiches and flans. Gratins, lasagnes and hotp ots which require extra top browning also cook well in the convention al oven.
23 HINTS AND TIPS • Single level cookin g gives best results. If y ou require more than one level of co oking use the main fan oven. • The middle shelf allows for the best heat distribution. To increase base browning simpl y lower the shelf po sition.
24 MAIN OVEN COOKING CHART The oven temperatures are intended as a guide only. It may be necessary to increase or decrease the temperatures by 10°C to suit individual preference s and requirements.
25 ROASTING CHART INTERNAL TEMPERATURES – Rare : 50-60°C; Medium : 60-70°C; Well done : 70-80 °C MEAT TEMPERATURE COOKING TIME Beef/ Beef boned 160-180°C 20-35 minutes per ½kg (1lb) and 20-35 m.
26 PIZZA This setting can be used for foods such as pizza where base browning and cri spness are required. The lower element operates in conjunction with the oven fan. USING PIZZA • The oven must be switched on ( ) before setting any cooking function or progra mme.
27 LOW TEMPERATURE COOKING With the Low Temperature Co oking Function , meat becomes tender and remains p articularly succulent. We recommend Lo w Temperature Co oking for lean, tender pieces of meat and fish. The oven heats up to the selected pre-set temperature.
28 TURBO GRILLING Turbo Grilling offers an alte rnative method of cooking food items normally associated with con ventional grilling. Turbo Grilling helps to minimise cooking smells in the kitchen and allows you to grill with the oven door close d.
29 HINTS AND TIPS • Prep are foods in the same way as for conventional grilling. Brus h lean meats and fish lightly with a little oil or butter to keep them moi st during cooking. • Most food should be placed on the gril l pan grid in the 'high' position in the grill pan to allow maximum circulation of air around the food.

31 HINTS AND TIPS • Most foods should be placed on the grid in the grill pan to allow maximum circul ation of air to lift the food out of the fats and juices. • Adjust the grid and grill pan runner position to allow for different thickne sses of food.
32 MAIN OVEN BASE HEAT AND TOP HEAT FINISHING BASE HEAT FINISHING This function can be used to finish of f dishes that may require extra base heat or where base browning and crispiness are required for pizzas o r pies.
33 MAIN OVEN KEEP WARM This setting allows you to warm plates or keep warm pre-cooked dishes prior to serving. USING KEEP WARM • The oven must be switched on ( ) before setting any cooking function or progra mme. • Press the Oven Cavity selector until the main oven cavity indicator is illuminated.
34 FAN CONTROLLED DEFROSTING This main oven function enable s you to defrost most foods without heat faster than some con ventional methods as the oven fan circulates ai r around the food. It is particularly suitable for d elicate frozen foods which are to be served cold e.
35 FAST HEAT Fast Heat is ideal for quick preheating of the oven. USING FAST HEAT After a cooking function has been sele cted and the temperature has been adjus ted, the cavity will gradually heat up until the selected temperature i s reached. This will take from 10 to 15 mi nutes, depending on selected fun ction and temperature.
36 CARE AND CLEANING Before cleaning always allow the appliance to cool down before switching off at th e electricity supply. CLEANING MATERIALS Before using any cleaning m aterials on your appliance, check that they are suitable and th at their use is recommended by th e manufa cturer.
37 CLEANING THE CERAMIC HOB Make sure the ceramic gla ss is cool before cl eaning. It is important to clean the ceramic hob daily to prevent soilage being burnt on. Take care to avoid the hob trims when cleaning the ceramic glass as the y may be damaged b y the cleaning agents recom mended.
38 HINTS AND TIPS TO REDUCE HOB SOILAGE: • Make sure the bottom of the saucepan and the cooking area are cle an and dry before cooking begins. • Ensure saucepans are large enough t o accommodate food to avoid boil overs. • If possible, wipe up spills and spl atters as they occur, but take care to avoid steam burns.
39 CLEANING INSIDE THE GRILL AND OVEN COMPARTMENTS The sides and back of the grill/second oven and m ain oven compartments a re coated with a sp ecial Stayclean coating. The y should not be cleaned manually. The vitreous e namel main oven bas e and grill compartment base can be cleaned using normal oven cleaners with care.
40 CLEANING THE DOOR(S) To prevent damaging or weakening the door glass panels av oid the use of the following: • Household detergents and bleaches • Impregnated pads unsuitable for non- stick sau.
41 REPLACING AN OVEN LIGHT BULB The type of bulb required is a 300°C 40 watt small Edison Screw. Disconnect the appliance fr om the electricity supply before r eplacing the bulb. 1. Make sure the appliance is cool before repla cing the bulb. 2. Open the door and remove the shelves and wirework runners.
