3 Impor tant safet y instructi ons These warnings are provided in the interests of your safety. Ensure that you understand them all before installing or using the appliance. 4 • (NG models only) Do not leave the grill pan handle in position when grilling, a s it will become hot. • (NG models only) Always use ov en gloves to remove and replace the grill pan handle when grilling. • Always support the grill pan when it is in the withdrawn or partially withdrawn position.
5 Product descr ipti on Grill / T op oven.
6 Control s and their functions Main oven control Push in and turn, the ignition will spark automatically . When the flame size increases turn to set the temperature required. Electronic minute minder Grill / T op oven control Hob Controls Used to set the time of day and set the cook time required.
7 Before usi ng the appliance Rating plate • This is usually situated on the front frame of the appliance and can be seen upon opening either the main or top oven door. Alternatively the rating plate may also be found on the back or top of some models (where applicable).
8 Grill and oven furniture • The following items of grill and oven furniture have been supplied with the appli ance. If you require replacements of any of the items listed below please contact your l ocal service force centre.
9 The electr onic minute minder The electronic minute mi nder can also be used to show the time of day. Please note that this is a 24-hour clock, for example 2.00pm is shown as 1400. In the following pages we explain how to set the controls. Read through them a few times until you are familiar with the procedure.
10 The m inute minde r At the end of the tim ed period an audible signal will sound for up to 2 minutes. The bell symbol will flash and the time of day will show in the display. To set press the decrease button and the display will read 0.00. Release the button.
11 To ca nce l the minute minder Press and release the decrease button. Hold Press and hold the decrease button and the display will count down in one minute intervals to 0.00. Release the decrease button. The time of day will show. The hob The gas hob has different burner sizes to suit different types of cooking.
12 To tur n off a ny burner Turn the control knob to the off position. This is shown by a large dot. W ARNING! When ligh ting any burner, ensure t hat it is lit before yo u leave the appliance. When tu rning off a burner, en sure the flame has gone out be fore leaving the appliance.
13 The grill CAUTION! Accessible parts may be hot when the gr ill is in use. Young children sh ould be kept away. IMPORT ANT! When you first operate the grill you may hear some sounds as the burner heats up, this is quite normal and is not a fault on the appliance.
14 The gr ill pan a nd ha ndle (LPG m ode ls o nly) The grill pan has a removable handle. Attach and remove as described below To attach. Place the wirework under the cut out in the pan so that the metal plate hooks over the top of the grill pan. Slide the handle to the left and over the central bump on the grill pan.
15 Hints a nd ti ps • Most foods should be placed on the grid in the grill pan to allow maximum circulation of air to lift the food out of the fats and juices. • Adjust the grid and grill pan runner position to allow for different thicknesses of food.
16 The top oven The top oven is the smaller of the two ovens. It is designed for cooking smaller quantities of food. Place single dishes on the centre of the shelf. You should turn all food round during cooking The top oven is also i deal for use as warming compartment to warm dishes and keep food hot.
17 Th ings to not e Do not place dishes, tins and trays directly on the oven base as it beco mes ver y hot and damage will occur. To fit the top oven shelf Only use the shelf with the solid metal plate at the rear of the shelf in the second oven.
18 The main oven Heat zones There are zones of heat within the oven. The temperature in the middle is the gas mark you have chosen. The top of the oven is slightly hotter and the lower shelf slightly cooler. The base of the oven is quite a lot cooler.
19 To tur n t he main ove n off Push in the control knob and turn to the off position. Th ings to not e The oven light will illuminate. Hints a nd ti ps • Arrange the shelves in the required positions before switching the oven on. Shelf positions are numbered from the top downwards.
20 Oven cooking chart The oven temperatur es are intended as a guide only. It may be necessar y to increase or decrease the temperatur es by to suit individ ual preferences and r equirements.

23 Slow cook The slow cook setting gives a ver y low heat in the oven. It is particula rly useful when you are cooking soups, stews and casser oles because the long slow cooking will make cheaper, tougher cuts of meat more tender. Some foods such as pastry and biscuits are not suitable for slow cooking because the temperature is too low.
24 Hold If necessary press and hold the decrease button to achieve the correct time interval. The bell symbol will show in the d isplay. The minute minder will begin to count down once set. The time of day will sho w in the display. To show the remainder of the cook time press the decrease button.
25 Food preparat ion – slow cooking Joints of mea t and poultry • Do not cook meat joints over 2.7kg (6lb). • Do not cook poultry over 2 kg (4lb 8oz). • Cook on the middle shelf of the oven or above. • Cook stuffing separately. • Cook for at least six hours.
26 Care and cleani ng W ARNING! Before cleaning always allow the appliance to cool down befor e switching off at the electricity supply. Cleani ng materials • Before using any clean ing materials on your appliance, check that they are sui table and that their use is recommended by the manufacturer.
27 2. Cap to crown. Place cap centrally on the top of crown (enamel side up). Move sideways and front to back to check the cap is properly fitted. 3. Check for ignition.
28 To remove th e outer door glass 1. Open the oven door slightly to gain access to the two cross head screws on the top of the oven door. 2. Loosen the two screws using a Pozidrive screwdriver. 3. Hold the door glass securely in pl ace with one hand before removing the screws completely with the other hand.
29 Repla cing a n ov en l ight bulb • The type of bulb required is a 300° C 25 watt small Edison Scre w. W ARNING! Disconnect the appliance from the electricity supply before re placing the bul b. • Open the door and remove the shelves to enable easy access to the oven li ght assembly.
30 Troubleshoot ing • Maintenance must only be carried out by a competent/qualified person. Do not try to alter/modify the appliance yourself, as this could be dangerous. • We recommend that your appliance has an annual gas safety check carried out by our approved service organisation.
31 PROBL EM POSSI BL E SOLUT ION The hob burne rs will not light. Ensure the bur ner parts have been pl aced corr ectly. Check that th ere is not a p roblem wi th your gas supply. You c an do this by making su re the othe r gas applianc es such as c entral heati ng or gas fires are working.

35 Moving yo ur appliance • You may damage some soft or badly fitted floor coverings when you move the appliance. The floor covering under the appliance should be securely fixe d so it does not ruck up when you move the appliance across it. Alternatively you could remove the floor covering.
36 Leveli ng the appli ance • Adjustment to suit floor conditions or height is obtained by rotating clockwise or anti clockwise the feet at the front and rear of the appliance. A spirit level should be placed on one of the shelves to confirm the appliance is correctly leveled.
37 IMPORT ANT! The fuse cover must be refitted when changing the fuse. In the event of losing the fuse cover the plug must not be used until a replacement fuse cover has been obtained and fitted. Connecti ng to gas supp ly • This appliance is designed to be i nstalled with an appliance flexible connect ion only.
38 4. Assemble upper bracket to lower bracket so that the underside of bracket is dimension 'C' + 3mm above floor level. (See Fig. 1b) Reposition appliance and check t hat top bracket engages into appliance back as shown in Fig. 1b. Pressure testin g 1.
39 5. Set the oven control to Mk 2, close the oven door and check that after about 10 minutes the flame size has reduced. 6. Turn off the control and check that the oven flames go out. Gener al note • Instruct the user on how to use the appliance and its ignition system.
