The weight is thus transferr ed to the back casters and the appliance can be easily pushed. Befor e Use P ackaging 0 Remove all adhesive tape and packaging from the interior of the appliance.
818 14 00-00/6 9 Installation Installation Location The appliance should be installed in a well ventilated, dry room. Energy use is affected by the ambient temper ature.

12 818 14 00-00/6 Changing Over The Door Hinges The door hinges can be changed from right (as supplied) to left if requi- red to suit the location wher e the appliance is installed. 1 Wa rn in g ! Unplug from the mains, before r eversing the door . 0 Open the freezer compartment door and remove the plinth to the front.

Remove the freezer compartment door carefully to the fr ont and place on one side. 0 Unscrew the centr e door bear ing. 0 Remove the fridge compartment door carefully to the fr ont and place on one side.
Changing Over The Door Hinges 14 818 14 00-00/6 0 Remove the door handles. To do this, use a screwdriver to turn the rotating pin 1/4 of a turn clock- wise and remove. 0 Rotate the door handles as per the diagram and move each to the other door . 0 Fasten the self-closing mechanism to the bottom left of the fridge compartment door .
Changing Over The Door Hinges 818 14 00-00/6 15 0 Slide the centre door bearing into the bottom left of the fridge com- partment door and fasten to the housing. 0 Fasten the self-closing mechanism on the top left of the freezer compartment door , 0 Carefully slide the fr eezer com- partment door onto the centre bearing pivot and close.

Appliance Desc ription 818 14 00-00/6 19 T emperatur e Regulator To adjust the temper ature of the refriger ator or freezer compartment the r egulator button must be freed fr om its recessed position. • Briefly pressing on the r espective temperature r egulator button frees it from its r ecessed position.
20 818 14 00-00/6 Applies only to the temperatur e display for the refri- gerator • When the FAST CHILL function is switched on (see also section: "Fast Chill/Fast Fr eeze"), "IC" is displayed in the temperatur e display .
818 14 00-00/6 21 Initial Start-Up Refrigerator and fr eezer compartments can be oper ated and contr olled independently of one another . 3 After the refriger ator and/or freezer compartments have been switched on, the electronics initialise a self-test.

818 14 00-00/6 23 FAST CHILL/FAST FREEZE FAST CHILL The FAST CHILL function is suited for quick cooling of large quantities of goods in the refriger ator , e.g. drinks and salads for a party . 0 T o switch on the FAST CHILL function first pr ess the temperatur e regu- lator for the refriger ator .
24 818 14 00-00/6 0 Y ou can stop the fast fr eezing process manually at any time by pr essing the FAST CHILL/-FREEZE button again. 3 The FAST FREEZE function can only be switched on when the re frigera- tor temperatur e regulator button is in the recessed position.
818 14 00-00/6 25 Stand-by Mode In the stand-by mode the temperatur e for the refriger ator is approxi- mately +15°C. In stand-by mode it is therefor e possible to leave the door of the empty refriger ator closed during periods of extended absence.
26 818 14 00-00/6 Contr ol and Information Systems The control and information systems consist of a temper ature display , an optical warning display and an acoustic warning.
818 14 00-00/6 27 P artial/Complete Thaw Warning If frozen goods in the fr eezer compartment have been partially or com- pletely thawed (e.g. during a temporary power interruption), the r ed warning display flashes.

30 818 14 00-00/6 Corr ect storage For physical reasons, the r efriger a- tor compartment has different temperatur e zones. The coldest zone is on the lowest storage shelf immediately above the fruit and vegetable trays. W armer zones ar e the upper storage shelves and door racks.
818 14 00-00/6 31 Fr eezing Except for the bottom drawer , which serves only for storage purposes, all compartments and drawer s in the freezer compartment are suited for freezing. Wa rn in g ! • Before foods ar e frozen, the actual temper ature in the freezer com- partment must be -18°C or colder .
32 818 14 00-00/6 • The following are suited for sealing bags and wr aps: plastic clips, rubber bands or adhesive tape. • Press air out of bags and wr aps before sealing, because air encour a- ges drying of frozen goods. • Make flat packages, because these freeze mor e quickly .
818 14 00-00/6 33 Stor age Goods Symbols/Freezing Calendar • The symbols on the drawer s show different types of fr ozen goods. • The numbers indicate stor age times in months for the appropriate types of frozen goods.
Defrosting 34 818 14 00-00/6 The appliance should be defrosted when the thickness of the white frost has r eached about 4 mm; but at least once a year in any case. A convenient time for defrosting is any time when the appliance is empty , or only minimally loaded.
818 14 00-00/6 35 Hints and Tips Normal Oper ating Sounds • Y ou may hear faint gur gling or bubbling sounds when the refriger ant is pumped through the coils or tubing at the r ear , to the cooling plate/evaporator .

It switches on again the next time the door is opened. 1 Warning! Danger of electrical shock! Befor e replacing the light bulb switch off the appliance and remove the mains plug.
