5 Daily Oper ation • Containers with flammable gases or liquids can leak at low temper atur es. Ther e is a risk of an explosion! Do not stor e any containers with flamma- ble materials such as, spray cans, fir e extinguisher refill cartridges etc in the refriger ator/freezer .
6 Remove tr ansport packaging The appliance and the interior fittings ar e protected for tr ansport. • Remove all adhesive tape and packing pieces fr om the interior of the appliance. Disposal of old Appliances For environmental r easons, refriger ation appliances must be disposed of properly .
7 Starting up and temper ature r egulation W ash the inside of the appliance with lukewarm water with a little bicar - bonate of soda added (5ml to 0,5 litr e of water). Do not use soap or deter- gent as the smell may linger . Dry the appliance thoroughly .
8 Interior Accessories Stor age Shelves The glass shelf above the fruit and vegetable compartment should always remain in position, to ensure fruit and vegetables stay fresh longer . The remaining stor age shelves can be adjusted to various heights: Pull the storage shelf forwar d until it can be tipped up or down and remo- ved.
9 Butter and cheese: these should be placed in special airtight container s or wr apped in aluminium foil or polythene bags to exclude as much air as pos - sible. Milk bottles: these should have a cap and should be stor ed in the bottle r ack on the door .
10 1. Place the packed food in the drawer s. Place food to be frozen in the upper drawer . Unfrozen food must not touch items alr eady frozen, otherwise the fr ozen food could begin to defr ost. 2. Place frozen foods in the dr awers sorted by type, as far as possible.
11 4. T urn the thermostat knob to the r equired setting and r eplace the plug in the power socket. W arning! Never use metal tools to scr ape off the frost Do not use a mechanical device or any artificial means to speed up the thawing process other than those r ecommended by the manufactur er .
12 – cleansers which contain acetic acid. Do not allow such substances to come into contact with appliance parts. • Many proprietary kitchen surface cleaner s contain chemicals that can attack/damage the plastics used in this appliance.
13 Something Not W orking If the appliance is not functioning corr ectly , please carry out the following checks before contacting your local AEG Service For ce Centr e. W arning! Repair s should only be carried out by qualified service engineer s. Repairs carried out by inexperienced persons may cause injury or serious malfunc - tioning.

Fasten the appliance with 4 scr ews provided in the kit included with the appliance.
22 Open the appliance door and the fur- nitur e door at 90°. Insert the small squar e (B) into guide (A). Put togeth - er the appliance door and the furni- tur e door and mark the holes as indi - cated in the figure. Remove the squar es and drill holes with ø 2 mm at 8 mm from the outer edge of the door .
