Installation • This appliance is h eavy. Care should be taken when moving it. • When unpacking the appliance, check that it is not damaged. If in doubt, do not use it and contact the Service Centre. • All packing and transit bolts must be re- moved before use.
Product description Your new appliance meets all modern requir ements for effective treatm ent of laundr y with low water, energy and detergent consum ption. Its new washing system allows total use of detergent and reduces wate r consumption so saving energy.
Control panel Below is a picture of the control panel. It shows the progra mme selector dial as well as the buttons, pilo t light and the display. These are presented by relevant numbers on the following pages.
Start Pause This button allows you to start or to interrupt the selected programme. Time Manager These buttons allows yo u to modify the pro- gramme duration automatically proposed by the appliance.
7.3: Heating phase During the washing cycle the display shows a temperature icon indi cating that the appli- ance has started the heating phase of the water in the tub.
Child safety lock This device permits yo u to leave the appli- ance unattended and not to worry that chil- dren might be injured by or cause damage to the appliance. This fu nction remains enabled also when the washing machine is not work- ing. There are two different ways to set this op- tion: 1.
the programme you have chosen. You can change these values by operating the corre- sponding buttons. The green pilot light of the button 8 starts to flash. The selector dial can be turned either clock- wise or counterclockwis e. Turn to positi on to reset programme/Switching the ma- chine off.
To interrupt a programme which is running, press the button 8 : the green pilot light starts blinking. To restart the programme from the point at which it was interrupted, press the bu tton 8 again . If you have chosen a delayed start, the machine will begin the countdown.
4. Press button 8 . At the end of the programme, the door is re- leased and can be opened. Turn the pro- gramme selector dial to O to switch the ma- chine off. Remove the laundry fr om the drum and care- fully check that the drum is empty. If you do not intend to carry out another wash, close the water tap.
All commonly available washing machine de- tergents may be used in this appli ance: • powder detergents for all types of fabric • powder detergents for delicate fabrics (60°C max) and woollens • liquid detergents, preferab ly for low tem- perature wash programmes (60°C max) for all types of fabric, or special for wool- lens only.

Descaling The water we use normally contains lime. It is a good idea to periodically use a water softening powder in the machine. Do this separately from any laundry washing, and according to the soften ing powder manufac- turer's instructions. This will help to prevent the formation of lime deposits.
Washing drum Rust deposits in the drum may occur due to rusting foreign bodies in the washing or tap water containing iron. Important! Do not clean the drum with acidic descaling agen ts, scouring agents containing chlorine or iron or steel wool. 1. Remove any rust deposits on the drum with a cleaning agent for stainless steel.
5. Pull out the emergency emptying cap from the filter cover, using pliers. 6. When no more water comes ou t, un- screw the pump cover by turning it anti- clockwise, using pliers, and remove the filter. Always keep a rag nearby to dry up any water spillages when removing the cover.
10. Replace the emergency emptying cap into the filter cover and fix it fi rmly. 11. Close the pump door. Warning! When the appliance is in use and depending on the programme selected there can be hot water in the pump. Nev er remove the pump cove r during a wash cycle, always wait until the appliance has finished the cycle, and is empty.
Emergency emptying out If the water is not discharged, proceed as follows to empty out the machine: 1. pull out the plug fr om the power socket; 2. close the water tap; 3. if necessary, wait until the water has cooled down; 4. open the pump door; 5. place a bowl on the floor.

4. Slide out the relevant plastic spacers. 5. Fill the smaller upper hole and the two large ones with the corresponding plastic plug caps supplied in the bag containing the instruction booklet. Positioning Install the machine on a flat hard floor. Make sure that air circulat ion around the machine is not impeded by carpets, rugs etc.
Important! Do not use the hose from your previous machine to connect to the water supply. 2. The other end of the inlet hose which connects to the mach ine can be turned as showed in the picture. Do not place the inlet hose downwards. Angle the hose to the left or right depend- ing on th e position of you r water tap.
The drain hose may be extended to a maximum of 4 metres. An additional drain hose and joining piece is available from your local Service Centre. Electrical connection Information on the el ectrical connection is given on the rating plate on the inner edge of the appliance door.
