6 BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE RATING PLATE This is situated on the f ront frame of the applian ce and can be seen upon opening the door. Alternatively the rating plate may also be found on the back or top of some models (where appli cable). The appliance must be protected b y a suitably rated fuse or circuit brea ker.

8 TO CANCEL THE COUNTDOWN If you change your mind and want to cancel the 'Countdown', press th e Selector Control button until the 'Countdown' indi cator neon flashes then depress the decrease control (-) until 0. 00 shows i n the display as Fig.
9 B) TO SET THE TIMER TO SWITCH OFF ONLY i) Ensure the electricity supply is swit ched ON and that the correct time of day is displayed, e.g. 10.00am as Fig. 9. ii) Place food in the oven. iii) To set the length of cooking time, press the Selector Control button until the 'Cook Time' indicator neon is illuminated.
10 THE GAS HOB USING THE HOB The gas hob has three different burner sizes to suit different types of cooking: To ensure maximum bu rner efficiency only use pots and pans with flat bases appropriate t o the burner size used. Larger burner (Rapid or triple crown where applicable) - use a large p an for food such as chips.
11 In the event of the bu rner flames being accidentally extinguish ed, turn off the burner control and do not attempt to re- ignite the burner for at least 1 min. THINGS TO NOTE If you are having any difficulty lighting a hob burner turn all the hob co ntrols off and m ake sure the burner parts have been re placed correctly.
12 THE GRILL CAUTION – Accessible parts may be hot when the grill is in use. Young children should be kept away. USING THE GRILL The Grill on this appliance has been design ed to heat up more quickly than conventional grill elements. It provides quick, direct heat and no preheating is necessary.
13 HINTS AND TIPS • Most foods should be placed on the grid in the grill pan to allow maximum ci rculation of air to lift the food out of the fats and juices. • Adjust the grid and grill pan runn er position to allow for different thicknesses of food.
14 THE TOP OVEN The top oven is the sm aller of the two ovens. It is heated by elements in the top and bottom of the oven. It is designed for co oking smaller quantities of food. It gives especially good results if used to co ok fruit cakes, sweets and sa voury flans or quich e.

16 THE MAIN OVEN USING THE MAIN OVEN The fan oven is particular ly suitable for cooking larger quantities of food. The adva ntages of fan oven cooking are: PREHEATING The fan oven quickly re aches its temperature, so it is not usually necessary to prehe at the oven.

18 OVEN COOKING CHART The oven temperatures are i ntended as a gui de only. It may be nece ssary to increase or decrease the temperatures by 10°C to suit individual preferen ce s and requirements.
19 ROASTING CHART INTERNAL TEMPERATURES – Rare : 50-60°C; Medium : 60-70°C; Well done : 70-80 °C MEAT TEMPERATURE COOKING TIME Beef/ Beef boned 160-180°C 20-35 minutes per ½kg (1lb) and 20-35 m.
20 DEFROST FEATURE This main oven function defrosts mo st foods faster than more conventional method s. It is particularly suitable for delicate frozen foods which are to be served cold e.g. cream f illed gateaux, ca kes covered with icings or f rostings, cheeseca kes, bis cuits, scones, etc.
21 CARE AND CLEANING Before cleaning al ways allow the appliance to cool down before switching off at the electricity supply. CLEANING MATERIALS Before using any clea ning materials on your appliance, check that they ar e suitable and that their use is recommended by th e manufacturer.
22 CLEANING THE HOB Clean the hotplate top using a mild abrasi ve. Take care not to damage the spark electrodes. If the spark electrodes are d amaged the burners will not light. You can remove the pan supports, burner caps and burner cr owns to clea n them.
23 CLEANING INSIDE THE GRILL AND OVEN COMPARTMENTS The sides and ba ck of the grill/top oven an d main oven compartments are coate d with a special Stayclean coating. They should not be cleaned manually. The vitreous enamel m ain oven base and grill compartment base can be cleaned using normal oven cleaners with care.
24 CLEANING THE DOOR(S) To prevent damaging or w eakening the door glass panels avoid the use of the following: • Household detergents and bleache s • Impregnated pads unsuitable for non- stick sa.
25 REPLACING AN OVEN LIGHT BULB The type of bulb required is a 300° C 25 watt small Edison Screw. Disconnect the appliance from the electricity supply before r eplacing the bulb. 1. Make sure the appliance is co ol before replacing the bulb. 2. Open the door and remove the shelves and wirework runner s.
26 SOMETHING NOT WORKING? Please carry out the following checks on your appliance before calling a Service Engineer. It may be that the problem is a simple one which you can solve y ourself without the expense of a servi ce call.

31 MOVING YOUR APPLIANCE You may damage some soft or badly fitted floor coverings wh en you move the appliance. The floor covering und er the appliance should be securely fixed so it does not ruck up when you move the appliance across it. Alternatively you could remove the floor covering.
32 CONNECTING TO THE ELECTRICITY SUPPLY Warning: This appliance must be earthed. Do not earth this appliance to the gas supply piping. Connect to 230 - 240V AC supply only. • The electrical connection should be ma de using a double pole isolating switch (cooke r socket) with at least 3mm contact separation in all poles.
33 CONNECTING TO GAS SUPPLY This appliance is designe d to be installed with a n appliance flexible connection only. Suppl y piping should not be less than R 3 / 8. Connection is made to the Rc ½ (½” B.S.P.) female threaded e ntry pipe located just below the hotplate level on the rear left hand side of the appliance.
34 CHECKING THE GRILL Place the grill pan co ntaining the grid into the grill compartment. Open the grill door and turn the grill control to full on. Visually ch eck that the element s are heating up. CHECKING THE HOTPLATE Lift the lid. Fit the burner crowns and caps ensu ring that they are correctly seated.
