4 Description of the Appliance A - F reezer calendar (recommended storage times for froz en foods) B - F reezer controls C - F rozen food storage times for froz en foods.
5 Before Use Remove all packaging and securing t apes. Wash inside the appliance with luke warm water and bicarbonate of soda (5ml to 0.5 litre of wat er). Do not use soap or detergent as the smell may linger . Dr y thoroughly . Star ting the Appliance Inser t the plug into the wall socket.
6 F reezing F resh Food It is impor t ant that fresh food placed in the freezer is frozen quickly and that the food already in the freez er is heated as little as possible. If more than 3-4kg of f ood is to be frozen: 1 . T ur n the thermost at control knob to the highest setting ("7").
7 Baskets The baskets are designed f or the storage of food which has already been frozen. The handles can be placed in two positions, as shown. The baskets can either be placed inside the freez er or hung on the edge of the casing. Spare baskets can be obtained from your local Ser vice Force Centre.
8 Normal Operating Sounds Y ou may hear faint gurgling or bubbling sounds when the refrigerant is pumped through the coils or tubing. When the compressor is on, the refrigerant is being pumped round and you will hear a whirring sound or pulsating noise from the compressor .
9 Defrosting The fr eez er compar tment will become progr essiv ely cov ered with frost . This should be r emov ed with the special plastic scraper pr ovided whene ver the thickness of frost e xceeds ¼ ". During this operation it is not necessar y to switch off the power supply or to remove the foodstuffs.
10 Before any maint enance or cleaning is carried out you must DISCONNE CT the appliance from the electricity supply Internal Cleaning Clean the inside and accessories with warm water and bicarbonate of soda (5ml to 0.5 litre of water). Rinse and dr y thoroughly .

16 Positioning Place the freezer horiz ontally on a fir m sur face, resting on all four wheels. Use a wooden block or similar object to compensat e for any bumps/holes in the floor's sur face.
