5 (not included with all models) Some models have a digital t em perature displa y integrated in the handle of the lid. In normal operation, it shows the temperature of the fro zen products in centigrade (°C). There are however the following e xceptions: - Af t er switching on the freezer "- -" is shown briefly .
6 Therefore regularly monitor that the op timal storage temperature of - 18 °C or colder is maintained, either using the thermometer or the digital t emperature display depending on which model you ha ve. If necessar y , adjust the temperature setting, until the thermomet er or the digital temperature display show s - 18 °C or colder .
7 Impor tant Do not put carbonated liquids in the freez er. Ice lollies, if consumed immediately after removal from the freezer can cause a low t emperature skin burn. Do not remove it ems from the freezer if your hands are damp/wet, as this could cause skin abrasions or frost/freezer burns.
8 Baskets The baskets are designed for the st or age of f ood which has already been frozen. The handles can be placed in two positions, as shown. The baskets can either be placed inside the freez er or hung on the edge of the casing. The following spare par ts can be ordered from your local Ser vice force Centre.
9 Normal Operating Sounds Y ou may hear faint gurgling or bubbling sounds when the refrigerant is pumped through the coils or tubing. When the compressor is on, the refrigerant is being pumped round and you will hear a whirring sound or pulsating noise from the compressor .
10 Defrosting The fr eez er compar tment will become pr ogressiv ely cov ered with frost . This should be remo ved with the special plastic scraper pr ovided, whene ver the thickness of frost e xceeds ¼ ". During this operation it is not necessar y to switch off the power supply or to remove the foodstuffs.
11 Before any maint enance or cleaning is carried out you must DISCONNE CT the appliance from the electricity supply Internal Cleaning Clean the inside and accessories with warm water and bicarbonate of soda (5ml to 0.5 litre of water). Rinse and dr y thoroughly .

15 Positioning Place the freezer horizontally on a firm sur face, resting on all four wheels. Use a wooden block or similar object to compensate f or any bumps/holes in the floor's sur face.
