8 Starting Up and T emperatur e Regulation Wash the inside of the appliance with lukewarm water with a little bicar- bonate of soda added (5ml to 0,5 litre of water). Do not use soap or deter- gent as the smell may linger . Dry the appliance thoroughly .
9 Int erior Accessories Stor age Shelves The glass shelf above the fruit and vegetable compartment should always r emain in position, to ensure fruit and vegetables stay fresh longer . The r emaining storage shelves can be adjusted to various heights: Pull the storage shelf forwar d until it can be tipped up or down and remo- ved.
10 Fr esh Food Refrigeration To obtain the best performance: • do not store warm food or evaporating liquid in the refrigeator • do cover or wrap the food, particularly if it has a strong flavour . • position food so that air can circuiate freely r ound it.
11 Fr eezing and Storing Frozen Food Y ou can use your fr eezer for freezing fresh food your self. Important! • The temperatur e in the fr eezer compartment must be –18 °C or colder before freezing food. • Please observe the freezing capacity given on the rating plate.
12 Ice pack There is an ice pack in one drawer of the freezer . In the event of a power failure or malfunction, the ice pack will lengthen the amount of time it takes for the frozen food to become too warm by several hours.
13 Defr os ting Refrigerator Frost is automatically removed from the evaporator of the refriger ator com- partment every time the motor compressor stops, during normal use. The defrost water drains out through a tr ough into a special container at the back of the appliance, located over the motor compressor , where it evapo- rates.
14 Switching Off the Appliance To switch off the appliance, turn the temperatur e regulator to position "0" or disconnect fr om the electricity supply . If the appliance is not going to be used for an extended period: 1. Remove all r efrigerated and deep-frozen packages as well as ice trays.
