Installation 818 36 55-00/3 11 The r efrigerator/fr eezer needs ventilation Air is fed under the door through the vent slots in the base and is exhausted upwards along the back wall. T o ensure proper air cir culat ion never cover or alter the vent openings.

The carbon filter cleans th e air in the fridge section and in the LONGFRESH 0°C cold section by binding unpleasant smells. Tip: The active carbon filter is a pa rt subject to wear and is not cove r ed by the warr anty .

Appliance Description 18 818 36 55-00/3 MODE button Different oper ating modes can be set using the MODE button. The following operating modes can be selected: – SHOPPING: Fridge temperature valu e 3 °C for 6 hours, cooling for freezer section ru ns for 1 hour in continuous operation.
818 36 55-00/3 19 Prior to Initial Start-Up 1 Before connecting the appliance to the mains and putt ing it into ope- ration f or the first time, leave the appliance to stand for 30 minutes if was transported upright. After tr ans port on its side, the appliance must be left to stand for 2 hours befor e putting it into operation.
20 818 36 55-00/3 Initial Start-Up 0 1. Insert plug into mains socket. 2. Press and hold down the ON/OFF button. The temperatur e indicator and the back lighting light up, the appliance start s up. An alarm sounds, TEMPERATURE appear s in the display and the back lighting flashes in red .
Temperature Adjustment 818 36 55-00/3 21 0 1. Press either the „+“ (W ARMER) or „-“ (COLDER) button. The temperatur e display switches over and the DESIRED temperature currently set flashes on the temper ature display . 2. To adjust to a warmer temperature, pr ess the „+“ (WARMER) button.
22 818 36 55-00/3 Oper ating modes Using the MODE button different operating modes can be selected. The operating modes ar e automatically switched off after a corresponding period, but can also be manualled en ded each time. T o do this, press the MODE button r epeatedly until there ar e no longer any words appearing in the display .
Operating modes 818 36 55-00/3 23 0 1. Press the MODE button repeatedly until FROSTMATIC is flashing in the display . After approx. 4 seconds the oper atin g mode FROSTMATIC is activated, the FROSTMATIC indicator lights up. The thermometer indicator in the display for the freezer section shows a falling temper ature column.
24 818 36 55-00/3 HOLIDA Y In the oper ating mode HOLIDA Y (ho liday setting) the desired tempera- ture value for the fridge section is +14 °C. In the holiday mode it is therefor e possible to leave the door of the empty refriger ator closed during periods of extended absence.

Control and Information Systems 818 36 55-00/3 27 T emperatur e warning For the fridge section: An alarm sounds and the TEMPERA TURE indicator and a red back light flash, as soon as the temperatur e in the fridge section rises above 12 °C. If the temperatur e in the fridge sectio n falls below 12 °C, the alarm automatically switches itself off.
28 818 36 55-00/3 Function Err ors If the appliance’s electr onics recogn ise a technical problem that has to be remedied by the Customer Serv ice Department, an alarm sounds and the SERVICE indicator appears back lit with a flashing red light.
