4 Safety Please read this instruction book befor e using the appliance and retain for future r eference. These warnings ar e provided in the inter ests of your safety , ensure you under stand them fully before using the appliance. Intended u se • The appliance is intended for use in the home.

They can burst when the contents fr eeze, high carbonate content drinks can even explode! Never store lemonade, juices, beer , wine, sparkling wine etc.
6 Remove T ransport P ackaging The appliance and the interior fittings ar e protected for transport. • Remove all adhesive tape and packing pieces fr om the interior of the appliance. Y ou can remove any r emnants of adhesive using white spirit. Warning! Befor e disposing of old appliances make them inoperable.

Interior Accessories Stor age Shelves The glass shelf above the fruit and vegetable compartment should always remain in position, to ensure fruit and vegetables stay fresh longer . The remaining stor age shelves can be adjusted to various heights: Pull the storage shelf forwar d until it can be tipped up or down and remo- ved.
V ariable Inner Door The door compartments can be pulled up and r emoved, and inserted at other positions as needed. V ariable Storage Box Some models are equipped with a variable stor age box which is fitted under a door shelf compartment and can be slid sideways.
10 Fr eezing and storing frozen food Y ou can use your freezer for fr eezing fresh food your self. Important! • The temperatur e in the freezer compartment must be –18 °C or colder before fr eezing food. • Please observe the freezing capacity given on the r ating plate.
11 Fr eezing Calendar • The symbols on the drawer s show different types of fr ozen goods. • The numbers indicate stor age times in months for the appropriate types of frozen goods. Whether the upper or lower value of the indi- cated storage time is valid depends on the quality of the foods and pre-tr eating before fr eezing.
12 Switching off the appliance To switch off the appliance, turn the temperatur e regulator to position "0" or disconnect from the electricity supply . If the appliance is not going to be used for an extended period: 1. Remove all refriger ated and deep-frozen packages as well as ice tr ays.
13 Cleaning and Car e For hygienic reasons the appliance interior , including interior accessories, should be cleaned regularly . Warning! Before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance, disconnect the appli- ance from the electricity supply or turn the temper ature r egulator to “0” .
14 Symptom Possible Cause Remedy Appliance does not work. Appliance is not switched on Switch on the appliance. Mains plug is not plugged in or is loose. Insert mains plug. Fuse has blown or is defective. Check fuse, r eplace if necessary . Socket is defective.
15 Heavy build up of frost, possibly also on the door seal. Door seal is not air tight (possi- bly after rever sing the door). Carefully warm the non sealing sections of the door seal with a hair dryer (not hotter than approx. 50 °C). At the same time shape the warmed door seal by hand such that it sits correctly .
16 Changing the light bulb Warning! Ther e is a risk of electric shocks! Before changing the light bulb , switch off the appliance and disconnect from the mains supply . Light bulb data: 220-240 V, max. 15 W 1. To switch off the appliance, turn the temper ature r egulator to position "0".

18 Guar antee Conditions Guar antee Conditions AEG offer the following guarantee to the fir st purchaser of this appliance. 1. The guar antee is valid for 12 months commencing when the appliance is handed over to the first r etail purchaser , which must be verified by pur chase invoice or similar documen- tation.

21 Reversing the door The side the door opens can be changed fr om the right side (factory fitted) to the left side. Warning! When changing the side the door opens, the appliance must not be connected to the mains. Remove plug fr om the mains before rever sing the door .
22 4. Unscrew the middle hinge and remove the r efrigerator compart- ment door by pulling it downwards. 5. With a screwdriver , unscrew the two masking plugs covering the holes on the left-hand side and refit them on the right-hand side. 6. Unscrew the pin fr om the top hinge and refit it on the left- hand side.
