4 Important Safety Instructions These warnings ar e provided in the interest s of your safety . Ensur e you fully understand them befor e installing or us ing the appliance. 7 Y ou can remove any remnants of adhesive using white spirit. Remove all adhesive tape and packing pieces from the interior of the appliance. Installation Installation Location The appliance should be set up in a well ventilated, dry r oom. Energy use is affected by the ambient temper ature.
8 Y our freezer needs air Y our freezer is designed for maintenance-free oper ation. It should never lack good ventilation. Air is supplied under the ventilation slot between the freezer and stor age surface. Air is extracted through the upper ventilation grille.
9 Warning! A cut-off plug inserted into a 13 amp socket is a serious safety (shock) hazard. Ensur e that the cut-off plug is disposed of safely . Plug socket The plug socket necessary for connection of your appliance to the electricity supply should be positioned so that it is possible to pull out the appliance plug.
10 Unscrew the handle. Refit it on the opposite side after having pushed in the plugs with a punch. Cover the holes left open with the plugs contained in the documentation pack. Prior to Initial Start–Up Please clean the appliance interior and all accessories prior to initial start-up (see section: “Cleaning and Care”).

12 Important note: if you oper ate the fast-freeze switch or adjust the temperatur e regulator , your appliance’s r efrigeration motor may not start immediately , but does after some time.
13 Ice pack There is an ice pack in one dr awer of the freezer . Refer to the section “Prior to Initial Start–Up” concerning fr eezing of the ice pack. In the event of a power failure or malfunction, the ice pack will lengthen the amount of time it takes for the frozen food to become too warm by several hour s.
14 To utilise the maximum r ated freezing capacity , switch on the fast freeze switch 24 hour s before freezing is due to start (the amber light illuminates).
Stor age Goods Symbols/Fr eezing Calendar • The symbols on the drawer s show different types of fr ozen goods. • The numbers indicate stor age times in months for the appropriate types of frozen goods.
16 Each temperatur e rise reduces the keeping qualities of your frozen food. Around 12 hour s before defrosting your fr eezer , switch over to fast freeze to build up a low temper ature reserve in the fr ozen food.
Important! • Ethereal oils and or ganic solvents can attack plastic parts, e.g. – lemon juice or the juice from or ange peel; – butyric acid; – cleansers which contain acetic acid. Do not allow such substances to come into contact with appliance parts.
18 If you should ever move house If the freezer compartment is not fully loaded, pack the fr ozen food all together on as few storage levels as possible: dr awers (1) and (2). 24 hours befor e the removal lorry is due to leave switch over to fast- freezing in or der to build up a reserve of coldness in the fr ozen items.
19 Malfunction Appliance does not work, no pilot light is illuminated. P ossible Cause Appliance is not switched on. Mains plug is not plugged in or is loose. Fuse has blown or is defective Socket is defective. Mains malfunctions are to be corrected by an electrician.
20 Malfunction The freezer temper ature is not sufficient, red light lights up, temperatur e alarm signal sounds. P ossible Cause Temper ature is not properly adjusted. A large quantity of warm food placed in the appli- ance within the last 24 hours. Remedy Please look in the “Initial Start Up” section.
21 Service & Spare P arts In the event of your appliance requiring service, or if you wish to pur- chase spare parts, contact your local AEG Service For ce Centre by telephoning: 087 0 5 929 929 Y our call will be automatically routed to the Service Centre covering your post code area.
