7 Installation Installation Location The appliance should be set up in a well ventilated, dry room. Energy use and efficient performance of the appliance is affected by the ambient temperatur e.
8 Tilt the appliance slightly towards the rear and pr op it secur ely . Unscrew the door hinge scr ews (K) and remove the hinge pin br acket (1). Open the door a little way and take it out downwards.
9 A EG98 A 12 Unscrew the upper pin (A) and scr ew it into place on the opposite side. Fit the door into the upper pin (A) and close it. Screw the hinge pin br acket (1) securely into place on the opposite side using the screws (K). Unscrew the handle.
10 Electrical Connection Any electrical work requir ed to install this appliance should be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent person. WARNING – THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED The manufacturer declines any liability s hould these s afety mea- sures not be observed.

13 Starting up and temper atur e r egulation Turn the temper atur e control knob (2) in the dir ection of “-16°C” . The green light (1) and the amber light (3) come on and the r efriger a- tion motor starts up and runs continuously . The appliance electronics switch off the FROSTMA TIC function after 5 hours.
14 Fr eezing and storing fr ozen food Y ou can use your fr eezer for freezing fr esh food your self. Important! • The temper atur e in the freezer compartment must be –18°C or cold- er before fr eezing food. • Please observe the fr eezing capacity given on the r ating plate.
15 Caution! Do not touch frozen food with wet hands. Y our hands could stick to the food and cause skin abrasions. Place the packed food in the drawer s.
16 Pr epar ation of Ice Cubes Fill the ice cube tray 3/4 full with cold water , place it in the freezer compartment and leave to freeze. To loosen the fr ozen cubes, either bend the ice cube tr ay or hold it under running water for a few seconds.
17 Remove frozen food fr om the fr eezer . Wr ap frozen food in sever al lay- ers of newspaper . Store it in a cool place, well cover ed. Switch the appliance off and remove the plug fr om the mains, or switch off or turn out the circuit br eaker or fuse.
18 Ener gy Saving Tips • Do not install the appliance near cooker s, r adiators or other sour ces of warmth. High ambient temperatur es cause longer , more fr equent operation of the compr essor . • Ensur e sufficient air cir culation and exhaust at the appliance base and at the back wall of the appliance.
19 If the freezer system has stopped working and the fr eezer is full, the reserve in the cold accumulator and in the deep fr ozen food itself will give the food a hold over time of about 14 hours. Symptom Appliance does not work, no pilot light is illuminat- ed.
20 Symptom P oss ible Cause Remedy Heavy build up of frost, possibly also on the door seal. Door seal is not air tight (possibly after rever sing the door). Carefully warm the leaking sections of the door seal with a hair dryer (on a cool setting). At the same time shape the warmed door seal by hand so that it sits correctly .
