9 3. Hold the HDD enc losure and pull it out . 4. Use your finger to rem ove white bracket in HDD enclosure, as instructed by the arrows..
10 5. Put a 3.5” SATA HDD in the HDD enclosure, as in structed. HDD’s SATA connect or should be located at left. 6. Use screwdriver with screws to fasten HDD to HDD enclosure. P lease use the screws that come with HDD package, and b e careful when you are doing this.
11 7. Press the top of HDD e nclosure and fu lly push it back into NVR, as instruct ed (do not press white lever back now, and it should remain in open position in this step). Note: Do not pull t he hard drive out when the NVR is powered on, or data stored on the hard drive will be damaged.
12 9. Connect AC cord t o AC adapter and connect AC cord to power outlet on the wall. 10. Insert the AC adapter’s power plug into NVR’s powe r socket.
13 11. Insert the Ethernet cable into NVR’s Ethernet socket. The other end of Ethernet cable should conne ct to your local network’s hub or switch. 12. Switch the p ower switch of NVR on. The ‘ POWER’ LED on th e front panel of NVR sho uld light up now.
14 CHAPTER II: USING T HE NVR WEB INTERF ACE 2.1 Locating the NVR ’s IP Address You can u se your new Network Video Rec order by its web user interface via web browser. You must kn ow the IP address of NVR before you can conne ct to it. The NVR will use DHCP server on your local n etwork to obtain an IP address aut omatically by default.
15 2.2 Accessing the Web I nterface When you k now the IP address of NVR, you can connect to it by web browser by entering its IP add ress in address bar. The use login screen will appear whe n you are connec ted: Lon in the NVR. The d efault username is ‘admin’ and th e default password is ‘1234’.
16 IE 8 and e arlier versions: Right click the indication bar and click ‘Install This Add-on for All Users on This Compu ter…’ to install ActiveX plug-in.
17 Click ‘Yes’ to allow ch anges. After ActiveX plugin is installed, you should be able to see the video stream from c amera 2.3 Controlling Network Came ras Your new NVR is cap able to conn ect to multiple IP cameras and display their video streams simultaneously.
18 Item Description Time & Date Displays current dat e and tim e. If the date and/or time is incorrect, please correct it or the data recorded by this NVR will become inacc urate when you need to review them. You can c orrect date and time by System setup -> Gen eral -> Time Setup menu.
19 IP address In Quad display, mouse move over the icon, will get the IP address information. 2.4 Setup Wizard Setup wizard allows y ou to setup the NVR quickly and easily. It is a good idea to setup NVR by this way if it is first time you use this NVR.
20 DHCP: This NVR will allocate an IP address automatically from your DHCP server on local network. Static IP: In put the IP address information m anually; please assign a uniqu e IP address on your net work. DNS1 and DNS2 are optional, but some network funct ionalities will not work if both fields are b lank.
21 Click ‘Next’ to con tinue and NVR will conf igure th e hard disk(s) for you. Please n ote that if you configured h ard disk(s) before, you wi ll receive this messag e: You can c lick ‘Next’ button as you have configured storage space already.
22 Please wait until c ountdown finishes, an d you will be prompted t o close current Internet Explorer window: Click ‘Yes’ to c lose window, and reconn ect to NVR. Your NVR will be ready to use. 2.5 Camera Setup Camera setup allows you to setup remote IP camera’s param eters, so NVR can access IP camera and start recording.
23 Item Description Auto Search Click this b utton and NVR will search all com patible IP cameras on your local area network, t his may requ ire few seconds to comp lete, please be patient.
24 Password: Inp ut the login password of IP camera. Model: Select th e IP camera’s model from dropdown me nu. HTTP port: In put the HTTP (web) p ort of IP camera. By default th is setting should b e ‘80’, if you change d the web port setting on IP c amera, input c orrect web port numb er here.
25 Click ‘OK’ an d the IP camera will be delet ed, click ‘Can cel’ to abort. Start Click this b utton to start video recording. When recording video from this camera, this field will look like this: To stop recording, c lick ‘Stop’ button.
26 Item Description LAN Select this item to assign an I P address to network interface. Y ou will also need to select DHCP (NVR will obtain I P address from DHCP server automatically), or Sta tic IP (You have to assign IP address manually).

DNS2: Input backup DNS server’s IP add ress here. You can leave this field blank if you have only one DNS server.
28 Provider: Select DDNS service provider from dropdown list. Hostname: In put hostname you acquired from DDNS service provider . Username: In put DDNS account’s username . Password: Inp ut DDNS account’s password. When you finish, click ‘Apply’ to save sett ings.
29 The following screen will appear: To setup recording, select an IP camera from ‘Camera list’ by clicking its nu mber (under ‘#’ field) first, then click ‘Edit’ bu tton. There are two record ing settings p ages available: ‘Recording Se tup’ and Storage’.

31 You can d efine the recording sched ule here. Each b ox represents an hour of a week day, camera will record o nly when correspond ing box is checke d. All boxes are ch ecked by de fault, and you can check th e weekday box under weekly (all) to check all 0-23 hours in a weekd ay automatically.
32 Please click ‘ Recording Setup’ tab: The following setup page will appear: All hard drives will be listed here. If a disk is not configured for video recording, the ‘Space’ field will be blank, and you will not be able to store video files on it.

37 Please note th at you will not be prompt ed to confirm file deletion, so only use ‘Delete’ button when you really want to rem ove a video file from NVR.

40 2.10 Server Setup You can c onfigure NVR’s built-in net work server upload func tionality here. When you enable FTP server, you can rece ive log file on remote FTP file server whe n camera is disconnected ; when you enable Em ail function, you’ll receive PP POE notification e mail when network PP POE function is ope ned.
41 Folder The folder on FTP server you wish to save video files. Test FTP Click this b utton to establish a connec tion to FTP server to test connection. Email Item Description Enable SMTP Server Enable Email n otification functionality. SMTP Server Input SMTP server’s I P address or host n ame.
42 2.11 User Managem ent This NVR allows two kinds of user to login: Administrator and user. Adm inistrator can configure NVR and ap ply chan ges, while user only allowed viewing video files. Only 1 administrator is allowed , while more than one user is allowed.
43 Confirm Password Input administrator’s new password again for confirmation. When you d ecided administrator’s new p assword, click ‘Ed it’ button to save c hanges. If the passwords in ‘Passwo rd’ and ‘Confirm Password’ field are differen t, you will receive an error message.

46 CHAPTER III: CMS L ITE 3.1 Installation Perform CMSLite inst allation: setup.exe Click Next.
47 Click Install Installation steps: Press Finish to complet e system installation. After comp leting installation, th ere will be a hyperlink CMSLite produced on desktop.
48 Shortcut Click desktop link to execute CMSLite. Enter valid acc ount and password (th e default account is “adm in” and the default password is “1234”). Click OK button to en ter main menu. In case of wrong information entered, there will a notice shown.
49 3.2 Main Menu : Capable to check the curren t camera device list and group list (tree structu re). Click the arrow to pop up or scale the whole lis t.

In case that it does not support model P TZ, no response will be ach ieved if to click some functional bu ttons.
51 4.1 Area Setup Administrators can add/m odify/remove area data at will. Add: Press Add button. It will be OK to click Save butt on just after entering area name. Modify: Slide the mouse to click one area name to be ch anged from area list; ente r the correct name and press Save butt on to complete modification.

53 3.3.2 L ocation Setup Administrators can add/modify/remove lo cation data at will. Add: Press Add button; after selec ting data (Oth er data are for reference only, t hey are not required for input.) of area located and entering location name, it will be OK just to clic k Save button.
54 Remove: After sliding the mouse to click one location to be changed from location list, it will OK just to p ress Remove button. In case of location data existing in th is location, “remove” is prohibited. 4.3 Camera device setup : The devices inc lude IP Cam era, Video Server and NVR.

57 3.3.3 Group Setup Administrators can add/modify/remove g roup data of the camera devices at will. Group setup is c onvenient for video man agement an d view. Add: Press Add button; after en tering group name and click ing camera located, it will OK just to press S ave button.
58 Back to main m enu: After completing setu p the related devices, press OK but ton to return to the main menu. (I f not to press OK butt on, some operations of the m ain menu are lock ed and can not be performed.) At this time , the camera device group data at top left corner of the main men u will ails be acc ordingly changed.
59 3.3.4 Status Collectin g Steps If the statu s collecting field of the c amera device is set to Yes, the system will supervise if the device if normal by CMS IP Came ra Status service procedure b eing performed at background.
60 Real time video 1/4/9/16 : According to spilt mode select ed, it is to display real time video. If camera qu antity is more than q uantity of split, page-next and page-previous button will be shown. The current total num ber of page is shown in the middle.
61 Right button list: Click right bu tton of the mouse on device n ame to select to display a list. Click th e desired fun ction. Connect: In case of video interrupted , click Connect to conne ct with the camera again. Disconnect: If stop is required, c lick Disconnect.
62 3.4.2 Group Check Click group c heck, click one group name from the list; th e system will record camera data of this group set. The system will first ly display camera in split 1. And , aiming at demand, th e system performs functions lik e 1/4/9/16 /full screen/page-next/p age-previous/automatic scan/PT.
63 The butt on operating method is the same as device view mode. 3.4.3 Event Alarm When th e system detects abnormality wit h the device, the icon at bottom of th e main menu will start flashi ng. Click event alarm icon to check locat ion of abnormality with the device.
64 3.5 Electronic Map Includin g functions of electronic map maintenance and electronic m ap browser 3.5.1 Electronic Map Maintenance Administrators can add/modify/remove el ectronic m ap data at will.

67 Remove: Click one electronic m ap name in the electronic map list to be removed; it will be OK just t o press Remove bu tton. The system will ask yo u to make sure if really to remove data of the elec tronic map. 3.5.2 Electronic Map Browser After clicking the main menu, you c an select one elec tronic map to browse.
68 Map list: List out electronic map for users to op erate. Click any elec tronic map to show this map an d camera location linking with the map. Click any camera icon to browse real time video of the came ra (pop up the window); click m ap link to switch over to anoth er electronic map.
69 3.6.1 Schedule Setup Administrators can add/modify/remove s chedule setup data at will. Add: Press Add button; after en tering schedule name, select period of time ( half hour is one period) ; and finally click Save button to complete adding.
70 Remove: Click one schedule name in the schedu le list to be changed; it will be OK just to press Remove button. If t here is still set trigger data in the schedu le, there will be a warning note shown, and “rem ove” is prohibited. 3.6.2 Event Server Administrators can add/modify/remove even t server setup d ata at will.
71 Sender: E-m ail from sender t o send trigger event n otice; Authentic ation information: If aut hentication is required for SMTP, p lease enter account/p assword of the sender; SMTP port: The preset is 25; if SMTP server port and port even t are with preset value, they c an be changed to c orrect data.
72 3.6.3 Event Trigger Aiming at each camera, administrator can ad d/modify/remove e vent trigger setup data at will. In case of abnormal event happ ened, disposal action to be triggered can be selected. Setup for each camera to be triggered is required.
