7 Chapter 3:Utility Software Installa tion 3.1 Win 8 Step 1 Before installing th e utility software, make sure that no other powerline u tility is installed on your compute r. If any other utility software is inst alled, un install it and reboot the c omputer.
8 Step 4 Click right button on WinPCap 4.1.2 then click “ Properties ” . Step 5 Click Comp atibility tab and check “ Run this program in compatib ility mode for:", then selec t Windows 7, then c lick “ Apply ” .
9 Step 6 Then click “ Win Pcap_4_1 _2 ” . The wizard will guide yo u through the setup process. Step 7 When the following Win Pcap C ompatibility Assistant app ears, select Run the program without ge tting help.

11 Step 8 After the installation is comp lete, click “ Finish ” ..
12 Step 9 Click th e “ Edimax PowerLine Utilit y ” , the “ PLC 50 0Mbps Utility ” appears, click “ Next ” to continue. Step 10 Select where you want to install the utility software, and then click “ Next ” .

21 Chapter 4 : Using the Utility Softw are 4.1 Main Tab The “ Main ” tab provides a list of p owerline adap ters connected to the net work. The upper p anel displays local powerline adapters . Th e lower pan el displays remote powerline adapters in the network.
22 4.2 Diagnostics Tab The “ Diagnostics ” tab displays the syste m information and history of all rem ote devices. The upper p anel displays techn ical data concern ing the software and hardware on th e host compute r and t he lower panel displays th e history of all re mote d evices.
23 4. 3 About Tab The “ About ” tab contains some b asic information about the software. You can also enable or d isable the autoscan fun ction under “ Preferen ces ” .

25 5.2 Joining a Netw ork If you want to add a new powerline device to an existing network , follow th e following procedures: Step 1 Press the “ Group ” button on an ad apter in the existing n etwork (adapter A or B) for less than 3 seconds. The Power LED will st art to blink.
26 5.3 Leaving a Netw ork & Joining an other Network If you want to remove a p owerline device from an existing network and ad d it to another net work, follow the following procedu res: Step 1 Press the “ Group ” button on th e adapte r to be removed (adapter B) for at least 10 seconds.
27 Chapter 6: Trou bleshooting If your powerline ada pters have difficu lty communicatin g with each other, try the following proc edures: Try power cycling the unit by unplug ging it from the ele ctric outlet for 10 sec onds and plugging it in again.
