7 Chapter 3 : Uti lity Software Installa tion Step 1 Before installing th e utility so ft ware, make sure that no other powerline u tility is installed on your compute r. If any other utility software is inst alled, uninstall it and reboot the c omputer.

11 Step 4 When th e setup wizard appears, c lick “ Next ” to continue. Step 5 Select where you want to install the utility software, and then click “ Next ” .

13 Step 6 After the installation is comp lete, click “ Close ” . Step 7 An icon will app ear on your desktop. Click the icon to open the utility software . Note: You can manage all th e connected powerline ad apters with the utility software. However, i nstalling th e utility software is opt ional.
14 Chapter 4 : Using the Utility Softw are 4.1 Main Tab The “ Main ” tab provides a list of p owerline adapte rs connected to the compu ter. The upper p anel displays local powerline adapters . The lower panel displays remote powe rline adapters in the network.
15 4.2 Privacy Tab In the “ Privacy ” tab , you ca n create a private n etwork by changing the default network name and c onfigure its security sett ings. If the network nam e is modified to an ything other than the d efault, the network type in the “ Main ” tab will be changed to “ Private ” .
16 4.3 Diagnostics Ta b The “ Diagnostics ” tab displays the system information and h istory of all remote devices. The upper p anel displays technic al data concerning the software and hardware on the host compute r and t he lower panel displays the history of all re mote devices.
17 4. 4 About Tab The “ About ” tab contains some basic information about the software. You can also enable or d isable the autoscan fun ction under “ Preferenc es ” .
