For 1986 and earlier applications, install the top pla te to intake manifold bolts and torque bolts to 8-10 ft./lbs. On E-T ec/Vortec applications, install the top plate to manifold bolts and snug down with a small box end wrench.
17. Replace spark plugs with the recommended heat range and reconnect all ignition and spark plug wires. Make sure the spark plug wires are installed in the proper order , and that the rotor in the distributor is pointing to the same location on the distributor housing as it was when it was removed.
