10 Preparing Child Restraint 1 2 Insert the hook on the backrest into the large opening on back of seat base. Make sur e backrest is la ying flat (horizontal) when connecting. Mak e sure seat pad does not get caught between the moving parts. Hold the rectangular shaped flap on the r ear of the seat base down to expose the backrest connection hole.
12 13 1 Cup holders are located in the base of the child restraint. Cupholder 2 Pull out cup holder to use. Push cup holders in when not needed. 3 Cup Holder Insert (on select models): Cup holder ma y hav e a remo vable liner for cleaning. T o remo ve, pull up on corner of rubber insert and remov e.
14 15 Belt-Positioning Booster Use Some vehicle belts will not work with a child r estraint. See pre vious page for specific instructions. Booster with Backrest: 30-100 lbs (13.6-45.4 kg) 34-57 in. (85.1-144.8 cm) and Over 1 Y ear Old. V ehicle lap/shoulder belt combination.
16 17 Secure the shoulder belt thr ough the shoulder belt positioning guide in the headrest. The belt should cr oss the base of the child’ s neck and across the chest (not the face or neck). Adjust headrest as needed (see “Headr est Adjustment” section).
Place lap belt acr oss child’ s thighs. Lock buckle . The belt should cr oss the base of the child’ s neck and acr oss the chest (not the face or neck). Pull up on the shoulder belt to tighten. NO TE: Mak e sur e the lap and shoulder belt ar e placed under armrest as shown.
T o remov e pad, r emov e backrest fr om base (see “Belt-P ositioning Booster : Without Seat Back Installation” section). Remo ve P ad Fr om Base: Undo fastening strip on armrest pad and r emove armrest pad. 4 Fr om the back, pull up on both elastic straps up and ov er the armrests.
T roubleshooting 1. If y our child restraint is not held secur ely b y the vehicle belt: Remov e all the slack in the vehicle belt. Make sur e the belt buckle is not up against the child restraint wher e the belt cannot be tightened. If you cannot secur e the child restraint tightly , mov e it to another seating location.
