If the icon is not present , click on Sta rt , Progra ms , Dynex, Wireless Netw orking Utilit y .

WEP gives wireless networks the e quivalent level of privac y protection as a comparable wired network.

A hex (hexadecimal) key is a combina tion of numbers and letters fr om A–F and 0–9.

Ad vanc ed diagno stic tool s The Advanced Diagnost ic T ools section is the central control panel for all the settings of the hardwar e and soft ware components of the wire less net work.
Troubleshoo ting 25 If you ha ve concerns about y our network’ s pe r formance that mi ght be related t o range or obstruc tion factors, try moving the co mputer to a position bet ween five and 10 feet from the wire less router ( or acce ss point) in order t o see if d istance is the p roblem.
26 Troub leshooting Th e name of your wireless netw ork DOES NO T appear in t he list of A vailable Net works. If the correct network name is not listed under “ Available Netw orks” in the WNU, try the follo wing troubleshooting steps: 1 T em porarily m ove the computer , if po ssible, to 5 to 10 feet away from the w ireless rout er .
Troubleshoo ting 27 Check the SSID sett ings to see i f they m atch. The SSID is case-se nsitive and the spelling on each com puter mu st be exac tly the sa me in or de r for the network ada pter to connec t to the wireless router (or access po int).
