English Quick Star t Guide F ollow these steps to install th e LabelWri ter printer and prin t your first label. 1. Unpacking your LabelW riter Prin ter NO TE Do not plug the printer into your computer until asked to do so during the software installation.
2 Become familiar with the printe r’ s major c omponents . See F igure 2. LabelWriter Printer F eatures Y our Labe lWrit er printer is a direct th ermal printer and does no t use ink or toner . Instead, the printer uses heat from a th ermal pr int head to print on specially treated labels.
3 2. Installing the Software NO TE Do not connect the printer to your computer until instructed to do so during the software installation. T o install the software on a Wi ndow s system 1 Inse r t the La belWriter CD into you r CD -ROM drive. Af ter a few s econds, the installation screen appears.
4 3. Connecting your LabelW riter Printer NO TE Do not connect the printer to your computer until instructed to do so during the software installation. T o c onnect the cables 1 Plug the power cord into the power adapter . See F igur e 4. 2 Plug the p ower adap ter into the power conne ctor on the bottom of th e printer .
5 4. Loading Labels The LabelWriter T win T urbo printer holds t wo label rolls, so you can print two types of label s without ha ving to change the labe l roll . F or example, load address labels on the lef t side and postage labe ls on the right side.
6 7 Align the left edge of the label with the left edge of the label feed slot and inser t th e label into the slo t. See F igur e 10. The printer fe eds the labels, stopping a t the beginning of the first label. If the prin ter does not feed the labels, make sure the first label is ful ly inser ted and then press the f orm-feed button.
7 4 Choose Lef t Roll or Righ t Ro ll from the Label Roll dr op- down li st to select the side of the print er where the addr ess labels ar e loaded. See F igure 11. 5 Click to print the label. F igure 11 high lights some of the featur es av ailable in D YMO Label Software .
8 Printing P ostage with D Y MO Stamps ™ Now you can print postage right from your desktop using your LabelWriter T win T urbo label printer . All you need is D YMO Stamps ™ sof tware, your LabelWriter printer , DY MO Stamps labels, and an Internet connection .
9 4 Select Buy P ostage from the Accou nt menu and purchase postage for your accoun t. 5 Select LabelWrit er T win T urbo from the Pr inte r drop-down list under Printer Selection . 6 Assuming you loaded the D YMO St amps labels in the right side of the printer , selec t Righ t Rol l as the Label Roll and click OK .
