3 About Y our New Label Maker W i th your new D YMO M1011 label mak er, you can cr eate metal labels . The label mak e r uses DY MO 12 mm (1/2") tape.
4 Loading the T ape The D YMO M1011 is set to emboss non-adhesive aluminium tape. T o load the tape roll 1. Hold the label maker in your lef t hand. 2. Open tape cassette door (A ). 3. I n se r t rol l of ta pe a ll ow in g t h e e nd to ex t en d a bo u t 5 cm (2 " ) t hro u gh the label sl ot.
5 Cutting the Label To c u t t h e l a b e l 1. Squeeze the embossing handle half-way , several times until the tape extends from the front of the tape exit (M) by at least 2,5 cm (1"). Before cutting the tape, make sure the end of the tape e x tends beyond the edge of the cutting asse mbly so you can easi ly pull the label out .
6 Embossing the L abel A void turning the embossing wheel at the same time y ou are squeezing the embossing handl e. This can damage the character wheel. T o emboss a label 1. T urn the character selection wheel (G) until the desired lett er is centered in the window (H).
7 Embossing on S tainless Steel Label Y ou may need to adjust the labelmak er t o emboss properly when using stainless steel tape. T o adjust for stainless steel la bel 1. T urn the adjustmen t screw (J) clockwise 3/4 t o 1 turn. 2. Emboss the t ext as described in “Embossing the Label ” on page 6.
8 Retracting the Label Y ou may want t o retract the tape, for e xample, if the tape adva nced too far or to center the text on the label. T o retrac t the label 1.
9 Removing the Label T o remov e the label 1. Retract the tape as described in “Retrac ting the Label” on page 8. 2. Open the tape cassette door (A ) and remove the label. Use caution when removi ng stainless steel tape that may hav e sharp edges.
10 Centering the T ext on the Label The trai ler length guide (N) has posi tioning marks for a short (S) or long label (L). Use the ma rks on the guide to center the text on your label. T o center the t ext on a long label 1. A fter cutting the pr evious label, emboss the text on a new la bel.
11 Applying S elf-Adhesiv e Labels Self-adhesiv e aluminum tape sticks permanently to any smooth, clean, and dry surface. T o apply self-adhesiv e tape 1. P eel off the protective backing taki ng care not to touch the adhesiv e. 2. Press the label in place.
12 Punching Holes in Non-Adhesive Labels Y ou can choose to punch one or two holes in non-ad hesive labels so tha t the labels can be attached using screws , nails, riv ets, an d metal or plastic wires or ties. Y ou can also punch a cable tie slot in one or both ends of the label.
13 Changing the Wheel Y ou can replace the character wh eel with a Reverse Image Wheel. T o change the wheel 1. Remove the tape . 2. Unscrew the screw in the center of the embossing wheel (G) and remo ve the wheel. 3. P osition the new wheel. 4. Insert t he screw in the center and tighten.
14 Hints for T rouble Free O peration Keep the following in mind when usi ng the label maker: • Letters appear where you wan t spaces - Y ou are probably squeezing the embossing handle too har d. • Letters overlap - The tape is slipping. This can happen when dir t or grease gets on the rollers.
