3 About Y our New Labelmaker With your new DYMO ExecuLabel ™ LM4 50 labelmaker, you can create a wide variety of high- quality , self-adhesive labe ls.

5 Setting the Curr ent Date The default date f ormat depends upon the language selec tion for the labelmak er . Y o u can change the defa ult date format by following the instructi ons in Changing the Date Format on page 10. T o set the date 1. Press .
6 The display window can accommodate 1 6 upper- case characters. As you type more cha racters, they begin to scroll to the le ft. (See Figure 6.) Formatting Y our Label Y ou can choose from a num ber of formatting options to enhan ce the appearance of your labels.
8 T o set the font style 1. Pre ss the key . 2. Use the arrow keys to move to the d esired style and then press . Adding Box and Background Styles Y ou c an further highlight your te xt by choosing a box, underline, or ba ckground style. Y ou can also use label text stored in memory as background te xt on your label.
9 Using Mixed Formats Y ou can apply different fonts a nd format styles to the text on a label by insert ing format breaks to divide the label into block s or sections of text. Each section is sep arated by a format break. Y ou can add two format bre aks, allowing you to apply three separate formats to a label.
10 T o add a symbol 1. Press . The first row of symbols shown in the table appears in the display . 2. Use the arrow keys to move to the desired symbol. The left and right arrows move horizontally alon g a row of symbols. Th e up and down arrow keys scroll vertically throu gh the rows of symbols.
11 Changing the Time Format Y ou can choose to show the time in 12-hour format or 24-hour format. T o set the time format 1. Press , select Set Time, and press . 2. Use the arrow ke ys to select the time format (24 Hour Clock or 12 Hour Clock) and press .
12 Printing a Fixed-Length Label Normally , the l ength of the label i s determined by the length of the text en tered. However , you may wish to make a label for a speci fic purpose that is a fixed length regardle ss of the length of the text. Y ou c an specify a fixed len gth for a label in 0.
13 Aligning the T ext When you print a fixed length la bel you can cho ose to align the text at the left, center, or right side of the label. For mult i-line labels, all li nes of text are aligned left, ce nter , and right relative to eac h other . T o align th e text 1.
